Beijing at Night: Small-Group Street Food Adventure

The Temple of Heaven was the place where emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) held their Heaven Worship Ceremonies. It is the largest and most representative existing masterpiece among China's ancient sacrificial buildings.

First built in 1420, the Temple of Heaven is enclosed by a long wall. The northern part within the wall is semicircular symbolising the Heavens and the southern part is square symbolising the Earth. The northern part is higher than the southern part. This design shows that the Heaven is high and the Earth is low and the design reflected an ancient Chinese thought of 'the Heaven is round and the Earth is square'.

With this combo ticket you can access the Temple of Heaven’s Park and the 3 top attractions inside it: The Circular Mound Altar, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.

In order to access the Temple of Heaven, please show the provided voucher with the admission QR code at any of the Temple of Heaven entrances for direct access. Kindly note that you must not use Viator's Voucher.
