The Palace of Versailles, a must- see French landmark, is a UNESCO World Heritage site which is one of the finest examples of 17th century French art and architecture. What To Know Before You Go To The Palace Of Versailles?

  • To reduce the waiting time at the entrance to the Palace, it is advisable to buy a Passport ticket with timed entry. This ticket grants admission to the whole Estate and guarantees access to the Palace within half an hour following the chosen time.
  • Generally, the palace is crowded by tourists from all parts of the world. Purchase the ticket online to bypass the ticket line crowd. Keep in mind even if you have the pass you cannot bypass the security line. You should wait for some time till the security checks are done.
  • Try to be the first visitor who reaches the gate at the time of opening or be the last visitor who visits at the end of the day when the tour groups have left. This will give you a comfortable tour without a crowd.
  • Avoid visiting during the weekends since the palace will be overcrowded.
  • Entrance tickets to the garden are free during the low season (Nov- Mar). Visiting during the low season will help you to save money on entrance tickets.
