Bali Reopens For Tourists: Everything You Need to Know

Bali reopens to overseas travellers from September 11 and domestic tourists from July 31, the Indonesian island confirmed on Sunday. The news of Garuda Indonesia resuming direct flights from Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Delhi and Mumbai followed closely, moulding the vision into reality.

Bali government allowed phased reopening of flights domestically and internationally in May and June respectively, nursing the halted airlines back to operation. Moving towards a much bigger step as international air travel resumption, Garuda Indonesia has come up with the idea of launching direct flights to connect outbound destinations. The airline believes that this decision will not only help avoid connecting flights expenditure but also facilitate tourists to cut transit time. With this, morning arrivals and evening departures will be the prime focus, so that the travellers can spend more time on their vacation.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster says that this move will revive tourism and the tourism-reliant economy altogether in a phased manner, but insists that it’s all the more vital for locals and travellers to follow the government-led social distancing strategies diligently.

Starting from July 9 to September 11, Bali’s attractions and tourism-led services like restaurants and beaches will reopen in two phases, culminating at the third and the final phase of border reopening by September 11.
