1.The Varkala Beach

The Varkala beach is a Cliff beach at Varkala, Trivandrum. It is also famously known as the Papanasham beach, where the locals believe you can wash off your sins. The Varkala beach, skirting the Arabian sea, has a mind-boggling landscape and is a seasonal favourite among tourists. The Varkala beach is an ideal place for sightseeing, sunbathing, parasailing, windsurfing, and snorkelling. It also houses an Ayurvedic massage centre that heals and relaxes you!

2. The Kovalam Beach

Kovalam beach is one of the most famous beaches in Kerala and is also one of the largest. This beach is at Trivandrum in the town of Kovalam. It houses three beaches – Lighthouse Beach, the Hawa Beach, and Samudra Beach. The beach is also famous for sunbathing and its beachfront stores. The Bekal beach is in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. The beach is well-known for its backwaters, serenity, bewitching scenery, and old forts. When you are here, don’t miss taking a ride across the backwaters in a Kettuvallam, the traditional houseboat of the state. The beach also provides a panoramic view of the famous Bekal fort, set against a lush green backdrop. And hey, don’t skip the traditional sweet drink, ‘Payasam’, served by the locals here!

4.The Alappuzha Beach

The Alappuzha beach is at the Alappuzha district of Kerala and only about 3.8 Km from the Alappuzha bus stop. This beach, undoubtedly, is the most famous one in Kerala and is loved by both locals and tourists. It is a bustling picnic spot and also houses an ancient, 140-year-old pier! There also is a stunningly old lighthouse in the Alappuzha beach that has historical importance.  Another thing the beach is famous for is its annual Nehru Trophy boat race that always attracts a huge audience. 5. The Chavvakad Beach

The Chavakkad beach is yet another amazing picnic spot in Kerala and is at the Thrissur district of the state. This beach, famously known as Azhimukam, is a place where the river and the sea meets. It is known for its simplicity. You can engage in fun activities like fishing, volleyball, sunbathing, and other water sports. 6.The Nattika Beach

The Nattika beach is yet another beach located in the Thrissur district of Kerala. This beach is very famous as it was where the cult classic Malayalam movie, Chemeen, was shot.
