Best time to visit Meghalaya

Often called the abode of the clouds, between October and June is the best time to visit Meghalaya. Most of the state’s tourist destinations receive temperatures that rarely exceed 30 ° C, making it a perfect escape between March and June which is the country’s summer season. It is also a favourite among tourists coming from high or moderate temperature zones during autumn and winter, i.e. from October to November and from December to February. Considered the country’s wettest region, Meghalaya during peak monsoons is not often recommended to tourists. The state gets an average of 250 cm rainfall. The season starts in May and continues until the end of September or at times until mid-October.
