September is a better time to visit the City of Wonders as the heat levels in the city are still high owing to the intense summer months of July-August. This city of skyscrapers and shopping malls has transformed itself into a destination that’s enjoyable by all age groups, where tourists flock for sales bargains, sunshine, and family fun. Burj Khalifa

Dubai’s landmark building is the Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world (829.9 meters) and the most famous of the city’s points of interest. You can witness the unique panorama of the cityscape at the observatory deck on the 124/125th level of this incredible skyscraper.

The views across the city skyline from this bird’s-eye perspective are simply astonishing. It has 57 elevators and 8 escalators. The interiors and the ambience inside seem to be wrapped up in artistic exuberance. Wrapping around the Burj Khalifa (back on the ground), are the building’s beautifully designed gardens, with winding walkways.

Bastakiya (Old Dubai)

Bastakiya is a perfect location to visit for travellers who are willing to take a ride back to the golden days of this ancient city. The Al Bastakiya is truly unique in its architecture and holds the memories of an era that pre-dates the federation of the Emirates. This place is home to buildings constructed with creek, corals, and limestones that have been well-preserved since the days of the ancient city.

Palm Jumeirah

One of the world’s most bold developments in the Palm Jumeirah in the City of Wonders. It is a haven for vacationers. Tourists can get a chance to visit Palm Jumeirah which is one of the most popular tourist places in Dubai and it is the only completed Island. Size is one of the first things that strike you when visiting the Palm Jumeirah. The solid ground is visible from space and the outer crescent is almost 7 miles long. 

Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall is the city’s prime mall and provides entry to the Burj Khalifa, as well as the Dubai Aquarium. It is the largest mall in the world with respect to the total area. Inside it, there are more than 1200 shops. Shopping and eating are endless. Dubai Aquarium which is also one of the most famous tourist places in Dubai is located inside the mall on the ground floor.

Dubai Frame

Dubai’s architectural designs and structures are always extremely beautiful, and the Dubai Frame is one of the most popular tourist places in Dubai. The Dubai Frame is an architectural landmark or observation deck that doubles up as an art gallery. While the images on display provide an overview of the city’s past and future, the contemporary landscape outside is similar to present-day Dubai.

Ski Dubai

“Surreal” is one way to describe Ski Dubai. Standalone snow-themed park in the Middle East is a welcome relief from the heat of the city in September! Indulge in some high-excitement zorbing down the snow slopes, enjoy a ride on the Mountain Thriller or the Chairlift, or revel in the chilly temperature of the snow cavern, you’re bound to have a blast! The indoor ski resort is open throughout the year which offers a unique experience to suit different levels of expertise. The themed restaurants are a delight in their own fashion.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

Almost everything about the architecture of Dubai is awe-inspiring and the same goes for the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. This is a wonderfully large suspended aquarium with a capacity of 10 million litres or hundreds of species of marine life of different sizes, colours, and shapes. During your visit, you can not only see the animals but also get up close with them in the feeding and diving areas.

Surrounded by iconic Burj al Arab, Jumeirah beach hotel, and Madinat Jumeirah, Wild Wadi is truly an interesting place to visit. It also holds the distinction of having housed the largest water slide outside of the North American continent. Visiting this amusement park is one of the best things to do in Dubai.

Tips for a visit to Dubai

  1. Avoid going outdoors in the day until you’ve given your body some time to adjust to the extreme temperature difference.
  2. Stay hydrated and keep drinking plenty of liquids while here.
  3. Pre-book tickets for Burj Khalifa and you would save half the price and long queues. Better sunset view atop from the Burj Khalifa.
  4. Make sure you dress modestly while visiting mosques or religious places.
