Travelling to France from India – Colour code classification

Depending on the evolution of the epidemic situation, all the countries in the world are classified into 3 zones – green, orange and red.

Green Zone Countries

  1. Countries with no active virus circulation.
  2. No variants of the same are found.
  3. Countries not in the Orange and Red zone.

Countries in European Union, Albania, Australia, Bosnia, Brunei, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Montenegro, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States and Vanuatu falls under the green zone. 

Orange Zone Countries

  1. Countries with active virus circulation with controlled proportions.
  2. However, no variants of the same can be found. 
  3. Countries not in the Green and Red zone. 

Angola, Armenia, Austria, Bonaire, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Germany, Guam, Guinea, Hungary, Jamaica, Kenya, Kosovo, Madeira Islands, Mauritania, Morocco, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Serbia and India falls under Orange zone.

Red Zone Countries

  1. Active Virus circulation present.
  2. Variants of the same are found.
  3. Countries not in the Green and Orange zone. 

Afghanistan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Maldives, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Paraguay, Russia, Seychelles, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Tunisia, Uruguay and Zambia fall under Red zone.

Countries for which France has Opened Tourism

All the vaccinated travellers falling under any zone are allowed to travel to France from India without any limitation since July 17, 2021. These travellers need not undergo a PCR test on arrival. However, unvaccinated travellers falling under any zone will be allowed to enter France only with a compelling reason and it is mandatory to carry a negative PCR test result taken within 2 days of arrival. Also, a 10 day quarantine with regular health monitoring is done. All these COVID-19 updates are done in a country to protect both its citizens and tourists from the spread of the deadly virus.

Vaccines Accepted for Travelling to France

According to the French Government, travellers vaccinated with Pfizer (Comirnaty), Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), and Jonhson & Jonhson (Janssen) are allowed to enter the country. Travellers vaccinated with a second dose of vaccine from either Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Moderna will now be considered fully vaccinated. The observation period has now reduced from 14 to 7 days. France COVID restrictions from India

  1. It is mandatory for tourists to wear masks in all public places from July 17,2021. However, it is not compulsory to wear a mask in big open spaces like the beach. Following the latest COVID-19 updates helps you escape from the catch of the deadly virus.
  2. Avoid gathering in public places to avoid the spread of COVID. Make sure to surround yourself with less than 10 people.
  3. Banks, shops, gardens, museums, beaches, forests, hotels, restaurants, cafes, cinemas and other important tourist destinations are effectively open since July 16, 2021. However, restaurants and cafes don’t encourage more than 6 people to gather at a table. 

France Entry Requirements from India

Tourists travelling to France from India will be allowed to hit their favourite destinations, cinemas, bars, restaurants, cafes, transportation hubs and hospitals with the help of a health pass in effect from August 1, 2021. A health pass bears the history of either you vaccinated, recovered from the virus recently or a negative PCR test result. Every traveller above the age of 18 should mandatorily carry a health pass from August 1,2021. However, minors between the age gap of 12 to 18 should carry it effectively from August 31, 2021.

  1. Fully vaccinated travellers with a valid C-type Schengen visa for 3-5 years, can travel to France without any restriction.
  2. It is mandatory to wait for 7 days after vaccination to call it a fully vaccinated condition.
  3. It is required to carry a health pass – a proof of vaccinated status.
  4. Unvaccinated travellers from India will not be allowed to enter France.
