Curepipe is a small town located in the centre of Mauritius mainland. It falls under the district Plaines Wilhems and also commonly referred to as La Ville-Lumiere or the City of Light. Furthermore, the town is at an elevation compared to surrounding lands, hence people often call it Central Plateau. Curepipe is the tourist hotspot in Mauritius. Hiking in Trou aux Cerfs:

It is a circular depression with 350m in diameter and the crater is 80m deep. The rim of the crater houses a viewpoint which offers amazing views of the island. Curepipe Botanical Garden

It is the second-largest Botanical park in Mauritius. It is a 27-acre lush green vegetation and home to the rare palm trees “Hyophorbe Amaricaulis“. In addition, there is no entrance fee to the garden. It is a good place to relax and enjoy the twilight.
