4. Baa Atoll – Amilla Fushi Maldives 

Baa atoll engulfs 75 islands in total, out of which 13 are inhabited. And a population of over 11,000 people. One of the most important species living around Baa Atoll is the parrotfish. The species feeds on the corral under the water and secretes it later on as sand. Thulhaadhoo Island is traditionally well known for its lacquer work handicrafts. They are decorative things made of wood with a layer of lacquer to give a unique finish.

Amilla Fushi, a true disruptor of the traditional Maldives experience was opening in 2015. It is located in the UNESCO Biosphere of Baa Atoll.
