Andaman and Nicobar Island consist of 600 islands, out of which only nine islands are open for international travellers. Out of that 9, Havelock Island is a pristine beauty which is famous for its breathtaking crystal clear water, white sandy beaches, turquoise beach, divers paradise and rich in coral life. The island is located exactly 150kms away from Indonesia and 1370 km from India. Havelock island is one of India’s jewel in her crown alongside North East India. The Island is a part of of the Indian union territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands lies 70 Km northeast of the capital city of Port Blair and is administratively part of South Andaman. 
Havelock Island holds several beaches such as  Elephant Beach, Radhanagar Beach, Neil Island, Vijaynagar Beach, Laxmanpur Beach, Kalapathar Beach. How to Reach Havelock Island

You can reach the island by taking a flight to Port Blair and from the Port Blair, you have to take a ferry to reach Havelock Island. This ferry ride will take 3 hrs and the ride can generally be a little bit bumpy. You can also take a  3- 4 days long ferry from Chennai to reach Port Blair if you wish to save money.

Getting Around the Island

It is not very difficult to roam around in havelock island. It is as same as the rest of the Asian countries. You can hire a tuk-tuk or rent a private scooter. The best way to travel inside havelock is to hire a scooter or taxi which usually cost INR 300 rupees per day. 

The island is blessed with natural greenery, and blue sea, the beach is comparatively tranquil and peaceful as fewer people are found roaming around the beach.
