My wife and I were looking for honeymoon packages to New Zealand. I came across Pickyourtrail’s website. It was quite interesting and engaging. One day I got a call from their team regarding our trip. I explained to them my expectations, interest and budget. I would easily give 5 stars for their outstanding planning, booking and support! Here’s how our honeymoon panned out in New Zealand with the help of Pickyourtrail.
Day 1:
Finally, the day one of our beautiful expedition kickstarted with our flight from Delhi to Queenstown. It was a hasslefree flight and we reached on time. We were given prompt step by step advice on how to proceed further and pick up our rental car. We reached our hotel ‘Ramada Suites’ in the afternoon. We spent our day enjoying the beauty of Queenstown and having a romantic dinner at the hotel.
Day 2:
Hydro Attack Shark Ride Shotover Jet
The next day, we took a bite out of Queenstown with a high-speed shark ride with the massive hydro attack. The jet boat was an ultimate blend of shark and machine. We were literally at a speed of 80 kph on the water and 40 kph diving under the water. Our one-on-one ride with one of their friendly pilots was breathtakingly awesome. This experience was like a cross between a fighter jet and a torpedo, skimming across the top of the lake. The adventurous ride in the serene liquid blue, cutting edge thrills, screaming re-entry was a complete action-packed experience. I would recommend everyone to give a try to this thrilling activity.
Skyline Gondola with 5 Luge Rides
Our evening was also packed with adventure and thrill. We had the skyline Gondola and Luge ride activity. They took us on a scenic ride through stunning views. The steepest cable car lift in the southern hemisphere made our heart skip a beat. Everything looked so small from a height of 450 meters above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. We enjoyed a spectacular 220-degree panoramic breath-taking view of Coronet Peak.
After reaching the top, we relived our childhood memory of rushing back home after school riding a bicycle. We took the driving seat with the gravity-fuelled Skyline Luge. We rode through gentle plains, steep turns and adventurous cuts. We were totally hooked and one ride was not enough for us. Unfortunately, the rain stopped us from taking multiple luge rides. So we took back the memories of the amazing experience to our hotel and ended our day.
Day 3:
Milford Sound Cruise Milford Sound Full-Day Trail
We were all set to explore deep within the Fiordland National park’s Milford Sound on a cruise. We were so excited as the locals said that this place is New Zealand’s most stunning natural attraction. We were not disappointed even a bit. Throughout the ride, we were lamenting about the beautiful combination of mountain peaks, ink-dark waters and superb dramatic forest-clad cliffs. We were able to experience the unspoilt and unadulterated scent of nature. Do not miss this stunning activity offering captivating views and gushing waterfalls on your trip to New Zealand. You will never regret experiencing it.
Day 4:
Lake Tekapo
Lake Tekapo is such a beautiful city. It was picturesque by dawn and dazzling by dusk. It took us around three hours to reach the place. We took some amazing pictures in the remarkable turquoise coloured lake and majestic mountain background. The view of Southern Alps and the suspended water brimming in the lake was like a beautiful painting.
Day 5:
Alpine Vista 20 Minute Helicopter Ride
One of the major reasons we chose New Zealand is to experience snow in a helicopter ride. This short scenic helicopter ride turned out to be an ideal activity for us to pick. We will never forget the first time we touched the snow and experienced the thrill of helicopter flight. We swept through the rugged high country landscape of the Ben Ohau Mountain range to a landing site on the snowfield high in the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic vista from the alpine setting as we passed through the snow-capped mountains, valleys and forests.
Day 6:
Lake Tekapo to Taupo
Lake Taupo in Taupo is another natural marvel in its own way just like Lake Tekapo. You will witness every kind of scenery that you can ever imagine. The snow-blanketed winter ski fields and alpine deserts will surprise you for sure. Ancient forests, bird songs, trout-filled rivers and the thundering Huka falls left us speechless. Exploring different places and falling in love with the place was our favourite thing to do.
Day 7:
Kaituna river rafting
The river rafting activity spot was located in an awesome sunny riverside location. It was so much fun rafting against the beating water. This adventurous experience will have a prominent place in our memory books.
Days 9, 10, 11 and 12:
Nadi
Known for its amazing beaches, clear waters, palm trees, very friendly locals, and relaxed atmosphere, Nadi was one important place in our bucket list. We were given an awesome resort by Pickyourtrail. Three days in Nadi were so peaceful and blissful.
We had our ultimate South Sea Island tour as the last leg of our trip. We went through this paradise island on a cruise. The island was full of crystal clear waters, stunning coral reefs, and party lights.
