In general, the rides are arranged two hours before sunrise and two hours after sunset. These timings are ideal for operating the hot air balloon, since the winds are weak, allowing smooth passage of the balloon. Usual hot air balloon activity timings are 5:30 AM in April-June, 6:15 AM and 4:00 OM in September-November and 6:45 AM and 3:30 PM in December-March.

The flight generally lasts for about an hour. The total time, including gearing up, inflating and launching the balloon, stretches for about 3 hours though. In a ride, a minimum of 4 riders and a maximum of 8 riders are flying. The minimum age for boarding the balloon is 5 years, and a minimum height of 1.5 metres. There is no maximum age limit. All age groups are able to enjoy the ride. Only pregnant women are not allowed to fly, taking into account their safety and that of their children.
