How Losing Our Instagram Account Stripped of Our Brand Voice

We remember this so vividly. On Jan 13th, 2022, our social media team did the usual morning routine every person does. Check their phone. But what greeted them was a message that sent shockwaves throughout the whole of Pickyourtrail.

“Your Instagram account has been disabled until further notice.”

Our Instagram account was the backbone of our social media presence. It was our brand’s spokesperson, the medium through which we connected with our audience. Without it, we couldn’t stay on top of our audience’s minds. Losing it was like losing a part of ourselves. The team was devastated, and there didn’t seem to be a possible solution to solve this problem. But they didn’t give up. They fought tooth and nail to get their account back, and after a month of hard work, we finally succeeded and got our account back.

Seems like a very straightforward ending to a dramatic start, but no. The struggles were far from over.

Pickyourtrail Instagram Follower Growth From 2020 – 2023

The engagement rate of the account plummeted after we got it back, which meant that we had to work twice as hard to get back to where we were before and increase instagram followers. But of course, hustlers we are, and we didn’t win the ‘Most Resilient Startup Of The Year’ award for no reason. We put in the effort, created engaging content, collaborated with top influencers, and hopped on trends to widen our audience base and add more instagram followers. It was a challenging task, yes, but our perseverance paid off. Now with a new milestone of hitting 200k followers (202k by the time we wrote about this and posted it) on Instagram, double of what we had a year back, we couldn’t be happier with this feat.
