Myanmar announces visa on arrival for Indians

Following Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Myanmar, the country has announced Visa on Arrival (VoA) for Indians. The visa relaxation which was supposed to be effective from December 1 will soon be in place.

Indians can now obtain Visa on Arrival from the country’s three international airports located at Mandalay, Yangon, and Nay Pyi Taw for an amount of $50. According to Hotels and Tourism Ministry Statistics, around 41,197 Indians visited the country last year. This year, the number has grown up by 4.27% from January to October.

Currently, Indians visiting Myanmar have to obtain an e-visa from the official website. The processing time for the same is 3 days and for an express visa, it is 24 hours.

With the new visa relaxation in place, Indians can now travel hassle-free. No more visiting the Myanmar embassy beforehand. The rule is also expected to bring in a huge influx of Indian travellers to Myanmar. Also check Maldives Visa for Indians.
