The Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Reunification Palace was built during the American Vietnamese War, for the president of South Vietnam. It was not just meant to be a lavish residence for the Vietnamese General Ngo Dinh, but it also served as a bomb shelter. The need for a bomb shelter arose when his own air force bombed his palace. Interesting, Isn’t it? The palace went down to be remembered in history when North Vietnamese Tanks arrived crashing it gates in April 1975. This marked the end of the Vietnamese War and the fall of South Vietnam.

This Presidential house was then renamed to be Reunification Place. This Reunification Palace is like a time capsule that is frozen in 1975. You can see two of the original tanks, that crashed the gates still parked in the grounds of the palace.  This palace has lush gardens, secret rooms, antique furniture, and more. This palace is still in use and it hosts important occasions in Ho Chi Minh, including summits. Curious to know more about the attraction? Read on. . .
