Sharjah Desert Park in Dubai is a vast land turned into an entertainment park. The park is not just an entertainment experience, it can also be a learning journey. The Sharjah Park consists of three main parks namely Natural History Museum, Children’s Farm and Arabian Wildlife Centre. Spread over 1 square kilometre of land, there are tons of things to do here. It is apt for people of all age groups. Situated roughly about 28 kilometres from Sharjah, this iconic place which should definitely be on the must-visit list. Things to do in Sharjah Desert Park

  • The first section of the park has exhibitions and illustrations about the different climatic conditions experienced in Sharjah. It also has graphical illustrations about the desert’s flora and fauna system. When you are here, you can know how the desert was formed.
  • Walkthrough the live botanical garden, which is grown under a closed environment inside the park.
  • Here comes the best part, the park also holds a wildlife zoo inside. Go on mini safaris and learn about reptiles, animals, mammals and lot more!
  • Head to the Natural Museum of History inside the Sharjah Park. The entire museum is themed like a journey to the past. The place has also got geological calendars and exhibits that talks the date of each object. The museum also displays the bones of dinosaurs and real meteor. This park is designed to make things interesting and interactive for kids and adults.

Opening hours

The Sharjah Desert Park is open to the public on all days of the week except on Tuesdays. The timings differ from day to day basis. The park is open between 9 AM and 5:30 PM on all Sundays till Thursdays.
On Friday, the park is open between 2 PM and 5:30 PM.
And on Saturday, the park is open between 11 AM – 5:30 PM.

Entry Fee

Adult: AED 15,
Child (12 –  16 years): AED 5,
Child (under 12): Free entry

Tips

  • Check weather forecast before you go.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and make sure you don’t wear anything revealing.
  • You will at least need a minimum of 4 – 5 hours to enjoy the park at leisure. So plan your day accordingly.
  • Always carry an extra set of clothes along. You will never know when you might need them.
  • Reach the park well in advance, there might be a big queue depending on the day. Better safe than sorry.

Do’s & Don’t at the park

The Sharjah Desert Park is a pride of the UAE. It is home to many endangered species and there are certain rules to be followed.

  • Photography is not allowed. While you are inside the park, it is prohibited.
  • The park is not a pert friendly spot. So if you live in Dubai and plan on taking your pet, it is a big No!
  • Any unnecessary activities that can affect the ecosystem, is punishable by law.
