St Vitus Cathedral

St. Vitus Church is just a couple of mins by walk from Prague Castles Entrance and is just at a distance of 1.2kms from the old town entrance of the Charles Bridge which is preferred location for residence by most travellers.

A Gothic style architecture marvel and also resting place of few of the prominent kings and saints in Prague’s history. It is the seat of Archbishop of Prague and believed to be one of the oldest churches in Prague and was established 600 yrs ago but was fully completed in the late 1920s. The church architecture was designed by a french architect Mathias but wasn’t able to complete the construction of the structure. A few other leading architects like Petr Parler were involved after the death of Mathias to complete structure but eventually, the construction was stalled due to the Hussite wars.this was followed by many failed attempts across the centuries but ultimately, the union of the Chruch completed construction of the structure on the occasion of the millennium of St Wenceslas in the year 1929
