Tamblingan Lake Tradition that still follows…

Tamblingan Lake has a very rare story related to its name. The term ‘Tamblingan’ comes from two words: Tamba means medicine, and elingang which means remember or spiritual powers, written in Lontar Kuntara Kanda Dewa Purana Bangsul. The Balinese mythology says the lake is considered to have spiritual significance and healing abilities. As per the Balinese history, the residents around Lake Tamblingan had been attacked by a plague and they didn’t have proper medicine for this sudden outbreak. A saint from the northern part of Bali helped the villagers with the medicine which he has found from the lake Tamblingan. After drinking the water which was taken from the lake by the saint, the villagers of Tamblingan got better and they healed instantly.
