A small coconut farm situated on a hilltop is a 15-minute drive from Mirissa Beach. The view from here, or sunset view, is simply amazing.

Top Things To Do
For her marine life Mirissa is quite famous. They offer whale-watching tours at the beach, taking the guests out on the Indian Ocean to spot whales , dolphins and tortoises for a few hours. The best way to spot whales is from the end of November through to March.
Day Trip To Unawatuna and Galle Fort
Unawatuna is a cool little town where you can wander around or spend some hours on the beach. There’s a lot to do at Unawatuna. Galle Fort is the spot to shop and visit the ancient Dutch Fort. Located about 38 km from Mirissa, Galle Fort is one of Mirissa’s best places to visit while somebody’s on a holiday. It takes about an hour to get there and if someone goes on a day trip, it is a must-visit. Built by 1588, this fort offers a glimpse into the history, outlook and shopping opportunities.
Tangalle Beach is a coastal refuge for people from Sri Lanka and nearby regions. Located in Sri Lanka’s southern province, close district Hambantota, Tangalle Beach is a must-visit spot. The beach stretches for about 10 km and is a great place to relax and unwind on your holiday in Sri Lanka.

The alcohol in Mirissa has turned out to be the cheapest we find anywhere in Sri Lanka as an added bonus. 90% of restaurants have a happy hour running from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. making all drinks 200-300LKR. Also, food is reasonably priced, though a little more expensive than what could be paid off the beach. Even, the vision is worth it. Even if the tourists are in fish then this is the perfect spot to have it because it’s all caught fresh.
