The Trou aux Biches is a small coastal town with beautiful beaches on the northern coast of Mauritius and it houses some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The World Travel Group has declared Trou aux Biches beach as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It was also awarded the World’s Leading Beach Destination at the World Travel Award for 2011. This Island is an ideal place for people who are looking out for sugar-white beaches with clear waters, luxury resorts and some high-end shopping.

This two-kilometre beach is bordered by the casuarina trees and also houses luxury resorts, night clubs and shopping centres. It is also one of the longest and cleanest beaches with soft sandy beach and crystal clear turquoise blue water. There are a number of activities that are available in this beach like; Diving, snorkelling. Scuba diving, Skiing, Parasailing and a glass-bottom boat. You can also see the bed of the ocean by taking a submarine tour. Unlike all other beaches in Mauritius, the Beaches aren’t crowded during weekends.

Apart from the Beach, the Maheswarnath Temple located near the Triolet and the Trou Aux Biches Casino are the other main attractions of the town. The Maheshwarnath Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and it is one of the oldest temples in the country.

The Trou aux Biches Casino is a favourite sot not just for the travellers but also for its locals. With a lot of slots and live games, this casino is one among the most visited places in the country.

This adorable Island also has the Trou aux Biches Beachcomber, a resort and Spa that has been and is still receiving great attention and love from lots of people around the world.   1. Mauritius is a tropical destination and so you might expect heat during midday. Make sure you pack a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and mosquito repellents before you start.
  2. Petty thefts are quite common and so keep an eye on your belongings.
  3. If you are about to go on a hike or trek, do not go without a guide
  4. Do not hesitate to Bargain in shops. You can purchase many souvenirs at best rates, only if you bargain. Honestly, the shopkeepers themselves expect a tourist to bargain.
  5. Food is yummier in street stalls. Mine frit and boulettes are the most popular dishes in Trou aux Biches. Give it a try!
