Step 1: Visa

You will be applicable for 2 visas for Australia holidays:

Tourist Stream (apply outside Australia)

Tourist Stream (apply in Australia) - Opt for this one if you already have another visa, but is about to expire.

Step 2: Vaccination Certificate

To meet Australia’s vaccination requirements and be considered a ‘fully vaccinated’ traveller, you need to provide evidence that you either:

Meet Australia's definition of fully vaccinated for international travel purposes

Are a child under the age of 12

Are a child aged 12 to 17 years who will be travelling to Australia with at least one adult who is fully vaccinated; or

Cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons

If you meet Australia's definition of fully vaccinated for international travel purposes

At least 7 days should have passed since the final dose of vaccine in a course of immunisation. If you were vaccinated in another country, present the International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) as your proof of vaccination.

If you are a child under the age of 12 or are a child aged 12 to 17 years who will be travelling to Australia with at least one adult who is fully vaccinated

You should also check any quarantine or self-isolation requirements that vary from state to state.

If you cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons

If you have a medical issue recorded in the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) you can show an Australian COVID-19 digital certificate to airline staff or show your immunisation history statement.

If your medical issue is not recorded in the AIR you will need to show airline staff a medical certificate that indicates you are unable to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine because of a medical condition.

The medical certificate must be in English and include the following information:

Your name (this must match your travel identification documents)

Date of medical consultation and details of your medical practitioner

Details that clearly outline that you have a medical condition which means you cannot receive a COVID-19 vaccination (vaccination is contraindicated).

If you arrive in Australia and do not fall into any of the above categories, your visa will be cancelled and you will be detained.

Step 3: Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD)

The Australia Travel Declaration has been replaced by the Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD). You can start your DPD seven days ahead of time and submit it 72 hours before your journey to Australia. Because you must present your health information and declaration (vaccination status and COVID-19 test result) 72 hours prior to your trip, this is the case. You'll need to do the following when filling out the DPD:

Contact details, including a contact phone number in Australia

Vaccination status (legally binding declaration)

Travel history in the last 14 days (legally binding declaration)

Make a declaration that you are aware of the quarantine and testing requirements that apply when coming to Australia and in the state or territory you are landing and the penalties for non-compliance

Step 4: Pre-Departure COVID test

Negative PCR test taken within 3 days before your flight

Negative antigen test taken by authorised person within 24 hours before your flight

Masks are compulsory during your Australia tour unless you are 11 years or younger, or have medical issues. You will have to provide proof for whichever is applicable in your case.
