Two words you have probably heard all through 2020 and 2021, would be Covid and Maldives! Covid needs no introduction, but the Maldives has not only gained popularity as a celeb-favourite destination, but has become a hot favourite of the Indian honeymoon market! Rightly so, since the Maldives is one of the safest places to visit with the isolated private islands awaiting your arrival. Scrolling through Instagram reels of celebrities basking under the Maldivian sun, might have made you a teeny bit jealous. “Why can’t I travel to Maldives? If only I had some flexibility!” Well, that’s where we would like to step in and say, Pickyourtrail has got your back.

Covid Guidelines for Maldives:

Let’s face it. Travelling during Covid requires all of us to follow certain guidelines and a trip to Maldives is no exception.

  • COVID negative RT PCR test certificate 72 hours prior to departure to the Maldives for all adults/kids travelling will be mandatory. Kids below 1 year of age are exempt from taking the test.
  • A return COVID negative RT PCR test certificate 72 hours prior to departure from the Maldives resort for all adults/kids travelling will be mandatory. Kids below 1 year of age are exempt from taking the test.
  • Health declaration forms of the Maldives government Imuga portal (arrival and departure) and the Air Suvidha portal (arrival) of the Indian government will have to be filled out 24 hours prior for each traveller.
  • If you are tested positive for Covid at the Maldives resort, the necessary quarantine norms will have to be adhered to at that point of time.
  • It is not necessary to be double-vaccinated as of now to travel to the Maldives, provided the norms mentioned above are adhered to.
