Arrival at Baku

Guba is a small city located in Quba-Khacmaz district of Azerbaijan on the north-eastern slopes of Shahdag ridge about 168 km away from Baku not far from Russian border. Now it is a paradise tourism destination in Azerbaijan with a population of about 23 thousand people. Guba district considered a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the capital, combination of a very good climate, the vicinity of a forest zone and the Caspian coast along the mountains and excellent fauna was exploited by the construction of large numbers numerous tourist facilities and resorts in the area. Most of Azerbaijans scenic highlights lie in the spectacular, snow-capped Caucasus mountains or their luxuriantly forested foothills plentiful of springs and beautiful nature spots. In spite of a large number of various fruit and vegetable species growing in the district every Azerbaijani first associates Guba with its apple orchards. A fair scattering of modestly historic buildings remain from that period and today Quba wooded hinterland is becoming a popular spot for Baku weekenders, thanks to its distant horizon of snow-topped mountains and a comparatively cool summer climate. Due to their amazing nature, this region has become a favorite place not only for visitors from abroad but also for the Baku citizens who manage to escape from the frantic pace of the metropolis. These places are famous for their waterfalls. Guba is called apple garden.

Azerbaijan is nicknamed the land of fire, thanks to its numerous natural gas vents and a long history of fire worship in the country. The Baku Ateshgah (Fire Temple) was built during the 17th and 18th centuries as a monastery and place of worship for Zoroastrian monks as well as Indian devotees of Shiva. Half-day Absheron Tour (Atesgah - Yanardag) - Private Transfers (Excluding Entrance Tickets) Without Guide

Diri Baba Mausoleum (Maraza Village):
The first stop of the Shamakhi tour is Sufi Dervish Mausoleum Diri Baba, located across from the old cemetery. For a long time, the local resident has kept the legend that their imperishable Saint Diri-Baba had been buried. However, many other legends and mystical details are connected with this landmark. Therefore, since the 17th century, it attracts pilgrims and simply curious visitors.
Juma Mosque, Shamakhi:
The oldest and largest mosque in Azerbaijan, Shamakhi Juma, according to the legend was built in the 8th century when Shamakhi was chosen as residence by an Arabian caliph. The initial Arabian inscription on the portal of the mosque said that the mosque had constructed in 744 AD. Therefore, Shamakhi Juma is considered one of the earliest mosques in the whole of Transcaucasia.
Silent Lake:
If you are a nature lover and you have decided to visit this incredibly breathtaking city, you must definitely see the Silent Lake, hidden between the mountains. Silent Lake Shamakhi has situated 125 km from Baku and can be reached very easily from there. Its a fantastic place to get rid of the hustle and bustle of the big city, to relax, and to have a great time with your family and loved ones. This paradise has paths with awesome views of surroundings which is a fantastic opportunity to try quadricycle or cycling, to play tennis, or just to have a walk.
Shamakhi Observatory:
The last destination of the Shamakhi tour is Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory is an observatory in the Caucasus Mountains in Azerbaijan. It is named after Nasreddin Tusi (Shao). It is located on the eastern slope of Pirqulu, at an elevation of 1500 m. It has 150, 200 clear, cloudless nights per year.
