Situated on a cliff 500 feet above sea level, it is one of the pilgrimage spots in Rajasthan. The calm breeze will be chanting the Shiv Stotras in your ears to arouse the spirit of devotion in you. The place seems to be picture-perfect like a painting made by God himself. Interestingly, you will find 300 feet deep gorge through which Chambal river is flowing. Also, you will find gigantic cliffs on either side of the gorge. This place offers to capture some of the best viewpoints. How to reach Garadia Mahadev Temple?

Garadia Mahadev Temple is located around 25 to 30 kilometres from Kota. It is highly recommended to book a taxi instead of taking a bus. You will mostly find the buses empty and you will find it secluded and confused in public transports. So, it’s better to book a taxi. The taxi will charge you from INR 800 – INR 900. But, trust me, this will be the best option. Also, you can choose to take your own car and reach the temple. You have to drive from Kota on the national Highway number – NH27. You will find a blue colour board on the left side mentioning – Garadia Mahadev Temple. 150 metres after the board, you will have to take the forked road on the left side. This narrow road goes towards the gorge of the Chambal river, where you will be able to find the temple and the viewpoint.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Garadia Mahadev Temple is during monsoon. During monsoon, you will find the Chambal river full of water. Also, the weather is pleasant and you can witness the best of this place during monsoon. In addition, you can choose to visit this place early morning to capture some best clicks.

You can visit this place from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Also, it is open on all days for the visitors.

  • Make sure you carry food and water as there are no shops in the nearby areas.
  • Carry your valid ID Proof which is required at the entry gate of the forest area.
  • You might find the area to be secluded, but it is completely safe.
  • You need almost 2 -3 hours to explore this place. So, plan your visit accordingly.
  • Make sure you capture some amazing scenic clicks on your camera. You will also find many people doing a mini-photoshoot here as the location is splendid.
  • The mobile connection might not be great at this place. So, expect some moments where you can go out of network connections.

Kishore Sagar is an artificial lake dating back to 1346 and it is is one of the beautiful lakes in Rajasthan. This was constructed by the Bundi Prince Dehra Deh. Also, you will find this located near the Brij Vilas Palace Museum. Interestingly, you will find a palace named Jagmandir located at the heart of the museum. The palace is made of red sandstone which will easily impress you with its architecture. The palace is a real treat for photographers.
