Santa Claus village – The official home of Santa Claus!

Every winter during Christmas, this mysterious man ventures throughout the world, bearing gifts. We put up stockings near chimneys, leave cookies on the table and hide in the kitchen to see if we can try and catch. After a long night of no Santa, there are somehow always gifts under the tree in the morning. Well, all our childhood Christmases passed in this fashion with Santa Claus being one sneaky man! Santa Claus village in Rovaniemi, Finland‘s Lapland is supposedly where Papa Christmas lives. Nobody can battle with that fact because this village is like no other. Perpetual snow keeps drizzling and reindeer trot around aimlessly. Snow covered house lanes are bordered by pine trees dripping needles of ice. Every inch of it claims, ‘Winter‘. “Santa Claus’ original home lies in the mysterious Korvatunturi (“Ear Fell”) in Finnish Lapland. Since the exact location is a secret only known to a chosen few, he decided to establish a Santa Claus village in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, in 1985.
