Double-decker living root bridge

This bridge, as the name suggests, is made of the living roots of trees. The view from this bridge is spectacular. The path to the bridge itself is around 4000 steps. One of the most famous attractions in Cherrapunji. This place gains its name from the view it flaunts. This place is located approximately 1km towards the South of Mawsmai Village. From this viewpoint, one can witness the seven segments of the river flowing down the Khasi limestone hills. The backdrop of the overflowing water from the waterfall along with the greenery and the clouds around, this place has an absolutely enchanting view of the hills around. This amazing valley is situated along the route from Shillong to Cherrapunji. Nohkalikai falls, one of the most beautiful falls in these mountain ranges has a splendid view from the top. Mawsynram Village

Closely competing with Cherrapunji, this place earns the tag of the “wettest place on the earth”. The locals here pad their roofs with thick grass to soundproof their homes from the loud and thunderous rains. This cave is approximately half a kilometre from the hamlet of Mawmluh. This cave is almost 4503 meters long making it one of the longest caves in Indian Subcontinent. The trek to the cave is absolutely breathtaking. There is also access by the river there. The river, upon entering the cave, makes small pools of water. Open sky above you, small puddles of water and narrow passages make it a very interesting experience. This cave also flaunts its natural Stalactites and Stalagmites.
