Hey everyone. I had booked my Vietnam tour with them and am glad i did. One of the best part was the way each and everything was communicated to me which included the requirements from my side as well as what exactly i was looking for in the trip. As and when the trip was getting close i was getting timely reminders and my queries were being addressed. Their aap is also super smooth and one can get all the updates wrt payments and documentation there itself. The price quotation was also great as i did compare with other travel sites as well. All in all a thumbs to them and definitely recommend.

  3. 5n Vietnam Highlights: Hanoi, Halong Bay & Da Nang

Starting about 4.75 km from Hanoi's hectic Old Quarter, the 3-star Golden Art Hotel offers a restful base for your 5N Vietnam Highlights Hanoi Halong Bay Da Nang adventure. You'll encounter Hanoi’s rich heritage during a half-day morning city tour visiting landmarks like the tranquil Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex. The itinerary’s standout is the full-day Wego Cruise in Halong Bay, featuring kayaking through Luon Cave lagoons and climbing Titov Peak’s panoramic summit. Wrapping up, Da Nang’s sandy beaches and historic French port charm invite relaxation. This itinerary tightly weaves urban culture, active exploration, and coastal leisure, creating a distinct travel experience across Vietnam's varied landscapes.

Navigating Hanoi's Historic and Spiritual Landmarks

Hanoi’s Old Quarter buzzes with narrow streets themed by trade, but this itinerary offers a structured and enriching glimpse beyond the chaos during its half-day morning city tour. Starting at the serene Tran Quoc Pagoda on West Lake’s island, visitors witness Vietnam's oldest pagoda from the 6th century, a symbol of enduring Buddhist tradition.

The tour proceeds to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, where respectful attire covering shoulders and knees is mandated, highlighting the solemnity of the site housing the late leader’s preserved body. Nearby, the striking One Pillar Pagoda presents unique lotus-shaped architecture dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy.

Further depth arises at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, showcasing the lifestyles of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups—or the Vietnam Women's Museum on Mondays when the former is closed. This immersive circuit provides historical, spiritual, and ethnographic insights, all within a morning and followed by a traditional Vietnamese lunch. Just note that the mausoleum closes on Mondays, Fridays, and mid-June to mid-August, when exterior visits replace interior ones.

Adventuring on the Halong Bay Wego Cruise

The Wego Cruise offers a dynamic full-day experience away from Hanoi’s urban landscape. Starting with a convenient pick-up at 08:15–08:45 from hotels within the Old Quarter or a meeting point at 20 Hang Muoi Street, this journey utilizes a new highway to speed travelers to Tuan Chau Harbor by noon.

  • Boarding the cruise commences with a welcome drink and safety briefing.
  • Exploration highlights include Sung Sot Cave’s dramatic stalagmites and stalactites on Bo Hon Island.
  • Guests can kayak or opt for a bamboo boat ride through the Luon Cave lagoons, letting them connect closely with the bay’s limestone karsts.
  • Titov Peak beckons adventurous climbers with its panoramic overview of the bay’s striking seascape.

Lunch and afternoon tea onboard provide moments to relax surrounded by natural beauty before the cruise returns by 16:30. The journey back to Hanoi concludes around 20:30. The day combines physical activity and scenic tranquility, requiring reasonable fitness for kayaking and climbing but rewarding with unforgettable views.

Relaxing and Exploring Da Nang’s Coastal Charms

After the energy spent in Hanoi and Halong Bay, Da Nang offers a gentler pace with its accessible beaches and historical sites. The 3-star Sepon Blue Hotel, located approximately 2.8 km from Da Nang’s city center, positions travelers conveniently for local exploration and seaside relaxation.

Da Nang’s Marble Mountains, limestone peaks topped with pagodas and dotted with Buddhist shrines, provide a mix of gentle hiking and cultural insight. The inland Bà Nà hills to the west add lush scenery and cooler air. Along the coast, sandy beaches invite rest or casual strolls, offering a contrast to earlier days’ busy city touring and active cruising.

This leg of the itinerary thus balances the trip’s pace, letting visitors unwind while still enjoying cultural and natural attractions in a distinct central Vietnam setting.

Where to Stay: Hotel Choices That Reflect Each City’s Character

HotelCityStar RatingDistance from City Center (km)
Golden Art HotelHanoi3.04.75
Sepon Blue HotelDa Nang3.02.8

The Golden Art Hotel, while not in the immediate city center, offers a quieter setting 4.75 km from Hanoi’s core, suitable for travelers who prefer less noise but reasonable access to the Old Quarter and tour meeting points. In Da Nang, Sepon Blue’s closer proximity to downtown and coastal beaches (2.8 km) supports easy exploration and leisure.

Both hotels provide 3-star comfort without luxury frills, fitting this itinerary’s focus on experience over indulgence. The location choices reflect a balance between accessibility and respite in crowded urban areas.

Important Practicalities and Limitations to Consider

This itinerary's well-rounded appeal does come with some logistics to keep in mind. The half-day Hanoi city tour is scheduled subject to flight timings, which might constrain travelers arriving late or departing early. Additionally, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays, Fridays, and mid-June to mid-August, so some interior visits may be replaced with exterior photo opportunities.

The Halong Bay cruise is a shared group activity with pick-up primarily from Hanoi’s Old Quarter, potentially less convenient for those staying farther away. The day onboard is physically active, requiring participants to kayak or climb Titov Peak — suitable for moderate fitness but possibly challenging for some travelers.

Finally, hotel distances from city centers mean some use of transportation is necessary, especially in Hanoi. This lengthens travel time slightly but helps avoid the noise and crowds of central hotels.

Balancing Cultural Insight, Activity, and Leisure Across Vietnam

The 5N Vietnam Highlights Hanoi Halong Bay Da Nang itinerary successfully combines three distinct destination experiences: a deep introduction to Hanoi’s layered history and spiritual sites; a vibrant day of natural exploration on Halong Bay with kayaking and striking vistas; and a refreshing coastal stay in Da Nang blended with cultural visits to Marble Mountains.

Travelers gain a comprehensive, varied taste of Vietnam, crossing urban, maritime, and beach environments. This mix suits those wanting more than a city break but who also appreciate structured tours and moderate activity levels.

This variety makes it an engaging choice for visitors looking to balance educational, physical, and relaxing vacation elements without rushing or repetitive stops.

The 5N Vietnam Highlights Hanoi Halong Bay Da Nang tour delivers a layered travel experience, integrating Hanoi’s rich cultural sites, a physically engaging Halong Bay cruise with kayaking and summit climbs, and a coastal respite in Da Nang. While the group tours and hotel locations require some transit and modest fitness, the itinerary’s design offers a distinct blend of urban discovery, natural adventure, and beach leisure. It’s especially suited for travelers eager to connect with Vietnam’s heritage and landscapes within a compact, well-paced 5-night framework.

Well-organized Vietnam tour with great service We had a wonderful experience on our Vietnam tour. Transportation, hotel arrangements, and overall coordination were excellent. Our tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help, making the trip smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. One suggestion for improvement , when we travelled from Hanoi to Da nag the flight time and hotel check in time has a gap of 5 hours. Next time please plan the flight and hotel check in time correctly. So your customer will not suffer during the trip. Apart from this, everything else was excellent. Thank you to the entire team for organizing such a memorable and enjoyable trip. I would be happy to recommend your services to others.

(4/5) We recently booked our Vietnam trip through PickYourTrail, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, airport transfers were seamless, and all the activities were well organized. Their support team was responsive whenever we needed assistance, making the trip smooth and stress-free. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hotel provided in Ho Chi Minh City didn't meet our expectations. Compared to the other hotels during our trip, it felt below the standard we were expecting and could definitely have been better. Apart from that, everything else was well managed, and we had an amazing time exploring Vietnam. I would happily recommend PickYourTrail to anyone looking for a well-planned international vacation and would consider booking with them again.

Hi, We had a wonderful experience on our Vietnam tour. The itinerary was well planned, covering all the major attractions without feeling rushed. Transportation, hotel arrangements, and overall coordination were excellent. Our tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help, making the trip smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. One suggestion for improvement where we stayed on the last day. The check-in experience could have been more welcoming, as the staff's attitude felt less courteous than at the other hotels. Additionally, the atmosphere in the hotel did not feel ideal for a family tour group. Choosing a more family-oriented hotel for future tours would further enhance the overall experience. Apart from this, everything else was excellent
