I recently went on a trip to Baku and Tbilisi with two friends, organized by Pickyourtrail, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. They managed everything from visas, transfers, tours and internal flight to accommodating our preference for staying in Airbnbs. I did face an issue with my visa during immigration in Baku, which required me to apply for an urgent visa on my own. Despite this challenge, everything went smoothly afterward, and the goodwill and support from Pickyourtrail were truly commendable. They consistently checked in to ensure everything was back on track, which I highly appreciated as a customer. The tour planning was seamless, and we had great drivers throughout the journey. A special mention to Mr. Fikrat in Baku, who was not only punctual but also incredibly considerate of our needs. We felt so comfortable with him that we could leave without needing to give any instructions. Our drivers in Tbilisi, Mr. Zako and Mr. Bando, were also excellent and ensured our journey was smooth and enjoyable. One suggestion for improvement: it would be helpful if the detailed itinerary could be shared a bit earlier, so we can review it and suggest any changes if needed. Overall, Pickyourtrail delivered an amazing experience, and we are already looking forward to planning our future trips with them for ourselves and our families. Thank you for the great trip and the wonderful support throughout!Vinamrata Agnihotri, Trip to Azerbaijan

Each day unfolds new adventures, iconic sights, and hidden gems, making it an unforgettable family experience.

Highlights of the Destination

  • The Old City (Icherisheher) - A UNESCO World Heritage site, this ancient part of Baku showcases narrow winding streets, the Maiden Tower, and the grand Shirvanshah Palace. It's a living testament to the city’s rich past.
  • Flame Towers - These iconic skyscrapers dazzle visitors with their LED facades, beautifully illuminating Baku's skyline and providing stunning city views from their observation decks.
  • Highland Park - Offering breathtaking panoramas of Baku and the Caspian Sea, this serene park is perfect for a relaxing family stroll, especially at sunset.
  • Gobustan National Park - Home to ancient rock carvings, this UNESCO site reveals Azerbaijan's prehistoric heritage amidst captivating mud volcanoes.

Travel Tips for Baku

  • Language - While many locals speak English, learning a few basic phrases in Azerbaijani can enhance your interactions with locals and show appreciation for their culture.
  • Local Cuisine - Don’t miss traditional dishes such as Plov (rice), Dolma (stuffed leaves), and Baklava. Visit local markets for the freshest ingredients and authentic snacks.
  • Transportation - Utilize the Metro for quick city access and consider private transfers for day trips outside Baku, ensuring comfort and convenience.
