We recently visited Cambodia and Bangkok , Pattaya total 12 days tour . I would like to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience with the booking team, particularly with Ms. Rishika from PYT. I found her to be rude and adamant about certain facts, especially regarding the compulsory tips, which were not communicated clearly prior booking . On a positive note, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Ms. Anita ( Sales Manager) and Ms. Ganga for their cooperation and professionalism. They were very helpful, and I appreciate their support. If you're seeking an unforgettable stay in Cambodia/ Siam Reap , Angkor de Miracle property is a top-tier choice that delivers on every front. From the moment you arrive, you'll be impressed by the exceptional service and luxurious amenities. The breakfast spread is truly a feast for the senses, featuring a diverse array of fresh, delicious options that cater to every taste. The pool area is nothing short of spectacularluxurious and inviting, offering a perfect retreat for relaxation. Please refer attached photos . The spacious rooms are beautifully designed, providing a serene and comfortable haven after a day of exploration. However, what truly sets Angkor Miracle apart is the outstanding hospitality. Mr. Dara, the manager, stands out for his exceptional attentiveness and warmth, ensuring every guest feels valued and well-cared-for. Overall, Angkor de Miracle is a blend of luxury, comfort, and remarkable service, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Cambodia/ Siam Reap . Stayed at Oak Wood Hotel and Residence in Bangkok and service hospitality was satisfactory though there is a loty of room for improvement . Some of the front office /reception staff was found to be rude on telephone ( Mr Monty ). Noted trainees at the front desk / reception with not adequate knowledge on service and room service taxes for food and beverages . The rooms found without any wardrobe and clothes require to be hanged in open which is a put off ( Please refer attached photo ) . Even the handwash in the room was diluted, which felt very cheap. I ordered salmon fish from the menu, but it was not disclosed that it would be dried fish served , which was quite misleading. Breakfast though was found to be satisfactory . Stayed at the Centara Life Avenue Hotel at Pattaya , and it was a disappointing experience. The hotel is located inside a narrow/ congested lane, making access quite inconvenient ( Please refer attached photos ). The reception area is surprisingly small and cramped. Additionally, the lobby had a persistent smell of dried fish, which was off-putting. The staff exhibited stingy behavior when it came to breakfast, offering very limited options ( Please refer attached photos ) . Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations and I would not recommend it. Totally not a 4 star property which we had requested and expected . I hope this feedback helps in improving future interactions. Thanks and warm regards Capt. Altamash M Khotaltamash khot, Trip to Cambodia

Cambodia Budget backpacker-edition Trip: 2 Nights & 3 Days

Just 0.3 km from Siem Reap’s city center, Side Walk Hotel offers budget travelers a comfortable base to explore Cambodia’s historic heart. The Cambodia 2 Nights 3 Days Budget Backpacker Edition itinerary invites you to discover the city's unique lakeside culture and lively markets without stretching your budget. In three days you can experience the intriguing Chong Kneas floating village and the buzzing Old Market, both essential to understanding Siem Reap’s local life and commerce. This itinerary is perfect for backpackers craving authentic experiences with manageable walking and affordable options, all while staying close enough to the city hub for easy access.

While this budget plan is tight, it smartly prioritizes cultural immersion over rushed sightseeing, offering time to appreciate each stop. That balance between activity and rest is what makes this itinerary genuinely worthwhile for adventurous souls on a budget.

Discovering Cambodia’s Floating Village and Local Traditions

The highlight of this itinerary is the full-day Siem Reap City Tour. Starting with Chong Kneas floating village, visitors board a boat and glide past floating schools, farms, and houses, soaking in a lakeside lifestyle rarely seen by tourists. Locals greet visitors warmly, sharing a glimpse into a traditional Cambodian way of life adapted to the water.

After the boat trip, the return route to the city includes a stop at the famous Old Market, a vibrant area bursting with shops and eateries. Situated at the south end of the Old French Quarter, the market offers a diverse selection of souvenirs and curios, perfect for budget shoppers looking to take home a piece of the culture.

Finally, the tour includes a visit to Senteurs d’Angkor, a shop celebrating Cambodia’s aromatic heritage. Here, travelers can sample coconut oil-based handmade soaps and other fragrances, making it a sensory treat after a day of exploration.

Side Walk Hotel: Affordable Comfort Just Steps from Siem Reap’s Center

Choosing Side Walk Hotel means staying within roughly 300 meters of Siem Reap’s central buzz, which is ideal for backpackers prioritizing convenience and cost. The hotel features free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, and massage services—luxuries not often found at budget prices.

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and complimentary wireless internet, ensuring comfort after full days of touring. The property caters to both business travelers and tourists, reflecting its versatility while maintaining affordable rates.

Its location allows guests to easily access the city's main attractions without long commutes, reducing transportation costs and maximizing sightseeing time.

Budget Backpacking in Siem Reap: What to Expect and Prepare For

  • Cost-conscious travel: This itinerary focuses on affordable activities, many of which involve walking or budget-friendly private transfers.
  • Comfort vs. price: Side Walk Hotel balances moderate comfort with reasonable rates, and its facilities include essentials plus some extras like a garden and massage services.
  • Local culture immersion: The floating village and Old Market visits offer authentic experiences beyond typical tourist spots, underscoring local life.
  • Walking and accessibility: While the hotel is centrally located, some walking and boat rides are involved; comfortable footwear is recommended.
  • Time management: Activities like the full-day city tour require setting aside most of the day, so plan accordingly.

Navigating Siem Reap’s Markets and Aromatic Heritage

The Old Market area is a dynamic mix of commerce and culture. Beyond souvenirs, visitors encounter galleries, restaurants, bars, and massage parlors, making it a lively afternoon or evening destination.

Senteurs d’Angkor adds a unique sensory dimension to the itinerary, showcasing Cambodia’s culinary and aromatic traditions through products such as handmade soaps scented with coconut oil. The shop emphasizes local ingredients and craftsmanship, offering a tasteful souvenir option.

Exploring these venues allows backpackers to connect more deeply with Siem Reap’s lifestyle, supporting local artisans and small businesses in the process.

Practical Tips for Backpackers on This Budget Edition Itinerary

  • Arrival timing: Note that with just 2 nights and 3 days, late arrivals or early departures may limit your exploration time.
  • Booking transfers: Private transfers included in the city tour ensure efficient travel between sites on schedule.
  • Budget meals: Street food and local eateries near the Old Market offer inexpensive and tasty meal options.
  • Dress code: Comfortable, modest attire is advised for temple areas and village visits; lightweight fabrics suit the tropical climate.
  • Cash needs: Many markets and street vendors prefer cash; ATMs are available but plan accordingly.

Experiences Not Included and Limitations to Consider

This itinerary does not include visits to the Angkor temple complex, which many consider the region’s primary attraction. For travelers prioritizing temple exploration, additional days would be necessary.

The hotel, while close to the city center, requires budgeting time to reach the floating village and some markets, typically around 30–40 minutes by private transfer.

Also, the shared nature of some tours may mean less personalized attention, which backpackers comfortable with group dynamics should expect. Lastly, the short duration means a busy schedule with limited downtime.

The Cambodia 2 Nights 3 Days Budget Backpacker Edition carefully balances rich cultural experiences with affordability, making it an ideal choice for travelers who want to engage with Siem Reap’s local life without spending much. Staying at the conveniently located Side Walk Hotel means cutting down travel time and costs, while the included floating village tour and market visits provide meaningful insights into Cambodia’s traditional and contemporary lifestyles. Although this itinerary excludes the famed Angkor temples, it offers a fresh perspective on what the Siem Reap region has to offer beyond the ruins. For backpackers seeking authentic immersion on a short budget stay, this plan delivers precisely that.

Keep in mind the packed schedule and early planning needed to maximize your time, but the overall experience remains worthwhile for those who value culture and local encounters within a limited timeframe.
