Key Takeaways

Azerbaijan offers a unique blend of ancient Silk Road heritage, futuristic architecture, and dramatic natural landscapes from the Caspian Sea to the Caucasus Mountains.

Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) provide the most comfortable weather for exploring cities and outdoor attractions.

The country features diverse experiences, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, mud volcanoes, ski resorts, and authentic Azerbaijani cuisine.

E-visa availability and affordable travel costs make Azerbaijan accessible for international travellers, especially from India.

A well-planned 5-7 day itinerary covers major highlights, including Baku, Gobustan, Sheki, and the northern mountain regions.

Best Time to Visit Azerbaijan – Weather & Seasonal Travel Guide

From the Caspian lowlands to the Caucasus mountains, Azerbaijan experiences four distinct seasons, each offering different advantages.

Ideal Time to Visit

The Spring season offers mild temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it the perfect time to visit Azerbaijan for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The country blooms with wildflowers, making it particularly appealing for photography.

April brings the Nowruz celebrations, the Persian New Year, which Azerbaijan observes with bonfires, traditional music and family gatherings. The season is one of the best times to visit Azerbaijan to experience the local culture without the peak tourist crowds.

Summer in Azerbaijan (July to August) icon

Summer temperatures often exceed the 35°C mark and bring intense heat to Baku and the lowland regions of the country. However, the northern mountain areas like Gabala and Shahdag remain pleasantly cool, making them popular summer retreats.

Our Andaman & Nicobar trip was truly a memorable experience, and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Pick Your Trail team for making it so special. Everything was well organized from the beginning until the end of our trip. The ground team was punctual with all the pickups and drop-offs, and they were always courteous and helpful. We also really appreciated the local food recommendationsthey helped us explore some wonderful places that we might have otherwise missed. A special mention to Karthick from the Pick Your Trail team. He regularly checked in with us throughout the trip, ensuring that everything was going smoothly and that we were comfortable. His follow-up calls and genuine concern for our experience made us feel valued and well taken care of. Thank you, Karthick, for your excellent support and hospitality! The only suggestion we would like to share is regarding the coordination at Neil Island. We understand that network connectivity can be challenging there, and we appreciate that some delays were unavoidable. However, it would be even better if the local team could proactively share updates or coordinate the itinerary a day in advance whenever possible. This would help avoid waiting time and make the experience even more seamless. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and would happily rate our experience 9/10. Thank you once again to the entire Pick Your Trail team for making our Andaman trip so enjoyable. We are already looking forward to planning our next vacation with Pick Your Trail and creating many more beautiful memories together!

Booked my honeymoon from pickyourtrail and it was the best decision. They helped me curate the perfect holiday. We were not satisfied with any normal holisay which all travel agents try to give. So thats why even till the last moment i was asking for changes and the people at pickyourtrail catered to all our request and fullfilled all the requirements. A special thanks Soumya Ranjan, Aashwin and MahaLaxmi and Selina who worked along side me to make this trip happen the way we imagined it to be.
