I recently went on a trip to Baku and Tbilisi with two friends, organized by Pickyourtrail, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. They managed everything from visas, transfers, tours and internal flight to accommodating our preference for staying in Airbnbs. I did face an issue with my visa during immigration in Baku, which required me to apply for an urgent visa on my own. Despite this challenge, everything went smoothly afterward, and the goodwill and support from Pickyourtrail were truly commendable. They consistently checked in to ensure everything was back on track, which I highly appreciated as a customer. The tour planning was seamless, and we had great drivers throughout the journey. A special mention to Mr. Fikrat in Baku, who was not only punctual but also incredibly considerate of our needs. We felt so comfortable with him that we could leave without needing to give any instructions. Our drivers in Tbilisi, Mr. Zako and Mr. Bando, were also excellent and ensured our journey was smooth and enjoyable. One suggestion for improvement: it would be helpful if the detailed itinerary could be shared a bit earlier, so we can review it and suggest any changes if needed. Overall, Pickyourtrail delivered an amazing experience, and we are already looking forward to planning our future trips with them for ourselves and our families. Thank you for the great trip and the wonderful support throughout!Vinamrata Agnihotri, Trip to Azerbaijan

Discover Azerbaijan in 8 Nights of Luxury and Adventure

When one thinks of Azerbaijan, the captivating blend of ancient history and modern marvels comes to mind. With 8 nights to explore, the richness of its culture, the warmth of its people, and the mesmerizing landscapes await you. Baku, the capital city, boasts an eclectic mix of contrasts, from shiny skyscrapers to the cobbled streets of the Old City. Experiencing Azerbaijan is like stepping into a living museum, alive with stories of its diverse heritage.

Highlights of the Destination

  • The Flame Towers:
  • These striking skyscrapers soar high above Baku, embodying the spirit of a country often referred to as the "Land of Fire.” At night, they ignite the skyline with a dazzling light show, casting reflections over the Caspian Sea.
  • The Old City (Icherisheher):
  • Strolling through this UNESCO World Heritage site feels like stepping back in time. The maze of narrow streets hides architectural wonders like the Maiden Tower and the Shirvanshah Palace, waiting to tell their stories.
  • Gobustan National Park:
  • Home to ancient rock carvings that date back over 40,000 years, this historical gem reveals the artistry and spirituality of prehistoric communities. Expect to be awed by petroglyphs amidst stunning landscapes that resemble another planet.
  • Gabala's Natural Wonders:
  • With lush greenery and majestic mountains, Gabala offers breathtaking views and exciting outdoor activities, from skiing in winter to hiking in summer.

Travel Tips for Azerbaijan

  • Currency:
  • The local currency is the Azerbaijani Manat (AZN). It’s advisable to carry cash, as not all places accept credit cards. ATMs are widely available, especially in urban areas.
  • Language:
  • While Azerbaijani is the official language, many locals in Baku speak English, making it easier for travelers to navigate and connect.
  • Transportation:
  • Baku’s public transport, including the metro, is efficient. Taxis are also available, though it’s recommended to use app-based services for convenience.
  • Local Customs:
  • Respect local traditions, especially when visiting religious or historical sites. Modest clothing is appreciated in places of worship, and it’s polite to greet with a smile and use the local politeness phrases.

Conclusion

Whether you're savoring Azerbaijani cuisine at a local restaurant, marveling at the beauty of its landscapes, or diving deep into its rich history, a luxury trip to Azerbaijan over 8 nights will be an unforgettable adventure. Let the vibrant culture and stunning sights weave unforgettable memories, and you'll find yourself longing to return to this beautiful destination heirloom of history and modernity.
