Why Choose Portugal for Your Next Trip?
Portugal has recently become a favourite for Indian travellers who want Europe's charm at friendlier prices. Whether you are planning your first trip abroad or your fifth, here is why Portugal deserves a place on your list.
- Good value for Western Europe: Meals, local transport and many hotels are generally more affordable than in France, Italy or Switzerland, especially outside July and August.
- Beautiful, walkable cities: Lisbon's tiled facades, yellow trams and miradouros, and Porto's riverfront and azulejo-covered stations are made for wandering.
- Fairy-tale Sintra: Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and the Moorish Castle can be reached from Lisbon in under an hour.
- Beaches and coastline: The Algarve's cliffs and caves, Cascais's bay and Madeira's volcanic coast mean you can combine culture with sea and sun.
- Wine and food: Port wine in Porto, Douro Valley vineyards, grilled seafood and pasteis de nata are highlights, and Lisbon has Indian restaurants and a visible Indian-origin community.
- Great for families: Oceanario de Lisboa, Zoomarine, beach days and Lisbon's trams keep children engaged.
- Romantic for couples: Sunset viewpoints, Douro River cruises, candlelit fado dinners and clifftop stays suit honeymooners.
- Easy to travel between cities: Lisbon to Porto takes about 3 hours by fast train, and the Algarve is about 3 hours from Lisbon by road or rail.
- Islands for every mood: Madeira offers levada walks and flowers year-round, while the Azores suit nature lovers on longer trips.
- Easy to combine: Spain is a short flight or train ride away, so Portugal pairs naturally with Madrid, Seville or Barcelona under one Schengen visa.
From romantic escapes to family adventures and wine trails, Portugal tour packages make it easy to plan a trip around the experiences that matter most to you.

We went for a trip to Portugal .. had a good experience with pick your trail. The support group was helpful and quite prompt. Some minor mishaps were there related to our visa.. but most of it was great. Hotel bookings were excellent. They were very helpful in planning the destination and suggested some changes for the good. Igni, srivatsan, loni all were very enthusiastic in responding to any of our queries! Overall good experience.
