My Name is Khan narrates the story of Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) in San Francisco  and how his world goes haywire around the 9/11 attacks.

Shooting locales: State Capitol, Nob Hill,  Golden Gate Park, Mission District, Alcatraz island, Palace of Fine Arts, Joshua Tree National Park
