Types of Cambodia Tour Packages

Cambodia Honeymoon Tour Packages

Cambodia is an underrated honeymoon destination. It combines the grandeur of Angkor's temple complexes with quieter riverside boutique stays and island beach resorts that still feel genuinely uncrowded. Unlike Bali or Thailand, Cambodia's luxury accommodation scene is priced lower for comparable quality, which makes it an excellent value honeymoon choice for Indian couples.

Popular honeymoon experiences include the following:

  • Sunrise private access at Angkor Wat (pre-booked guide, 5:00 AM entry)
  • Boutique heritage hotel stays in Siem Reap's French Quarter
  • Sunset cruise on Tonle Sap Lake with private dining
  • Koh Rong overwater bungalows and bioluminescent beach evenings
  • Phnom Penh rooftop dining with Mekong River views
  • Couples spa and Khmer massage sessions

Our most popular Cambodia honeymoon packages run 6 nights across Siem Reap (3N) + Phnom Penh (1N) + Koh Rong (2N), starting from approximately ₹32,957 per person (twin sharing, 4-star hotels, breakfast included).

Cambodia Family Tour Packages

Cambodia works well for Indian families. The temples are genuinely spectacular for children who have studied ancient history, the food is adaptable, and the country's compact geography means you are not spending half the trip in transit. Families typically anchor around Siem Reap with day trips and add a beach segment on Koh Rong or Sihanoukville at the end.

Top family-friendly attractions include:

  • Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple's 216 carved stone faces
  • Phare, the Cambodian Circus in Siem Reap (evening performance; highly recommended for children)
  • Tonle Sap floating village boat tour
  • Landmine Museum — age-appropriate for teens and educational for adults
  • Butterfly Centre near Siem Reap
  • Koh Rong beach and shallow-water snorkelling

A typical Cambodia family package from India runs 7 to 9 days, covering Siem Reap (3–4 nights) + Phnom Penh (1–2 nights) + Koh Rong or Sihanoukville (2 nights), starting from approximately ₹40,356 per person, including 4-star hotels, breakfast, and private transfers.

Cambodia Luxury Tour Packages

Cambodia's luxury tier punches well above its price point. Properties like Amansara in Siem Reap (Aman's Cambodia flagship), Shinta Mani Wild in the Cardamom Mountains, and Song Saa Private Island in the Koh Rong archipelago rank among Asia's finest boutique luxury experiences, at prices that are genuinely lower than comparable Maldives or Bali alternatives.

Luxury Cambodia experiences include the following:

  • Amansara's private Angkor dawn bicycle access
  • Helicopter temple circuit over Angkor from above
  • Shinta Mani Wild: rainforest zip-line arrival and wildlife-focused lodging in the Cardamom Mountains
  • Song Saa Private Island: overwater villas with house reef snorkelling
  • Private cooking classes at Phnom Penh's Romdeng restaurant (rehabilitated youth cooking programme)

Luxury Cambodia holiday packages from India start from approximately ₹95,627 per person for 7 nights, fully customised around your preferences.

Cambodia Adventure Packages

Cambodia offers far more adventure than many travellers expect. Beyond its famous temples, the country is home to dense rainforests, remote mountain ranges, scenic rivers, and tropical islands that create excellent opportunities for outdoor exploration. From trekking through the Cardamom Mountains and cycling around Angkor's ancient temples to kayaking on the Mekong River and snorkelling around Koh Rong, Cambodia is an exciting destination for active travellers.

Popular experiences included in Cambodia adventure packages include:

  • Cycling tours through Angkor Wat and the surrounding temple complex
  • Jungle trekking and wildlife spotting in the Cardamom Mountains
  • Ziplining above the rainforest canopy near Angkor Archaeological Park
  • Kayaking and paddleboarding along the Mekong River and Tonle Sap Lake
  • Snorkelling, scuba diving, and island-hopping around Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem
  • Exploring rural villages and countryside trails around Battambang
  • Hiking to waterfalls, caves, and remote temples across Cambodia's national parks

Cambodia adventure tour packages from India typically start from approximately ₹88,594 per person for a 6–8 day itinerary, depending on the destinations, accommodation category, and adventure activities included.

Best Places to Visit in Cambodia

1. Siem Reap and Angkor Archaeological Park

Known as the gateway to Cambodia's ancient wonders, Siem Reap is home to the world-famous Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the country's most visited attraction. The vast temple complex includes Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious monument, along with remarkable sites such as Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm, Preah Khan, and Banteay Srei.

These temples offer a fascinating glimpse into the history and architectural brilliance of the Khmer Empire. With Siem Reap tour packages, you can explore lively markets, excellent restaurants, vibrant nightlife, and cultural experiences like the Phare Cambodian Circus, making it a well-rounded destination for all types of travellers.

2. Phnom Penh

As Cambodia's capital and largest city, Phnom Penh combines royal heritage, historical landmarks, and a growing culinary scene. Visitors can explore the magnificent Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, admire centuries-old Khmer artefacts at the National Museum, and stroll along the scenic riverside promenade.

The city also offers important historical attractions such as the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields, which provide valuable insight into Cambodia's recent past. With bustling local markets, street food stalls, riverside restaurants, and vibrant nightlife, Phnom Penh tour packages offer a deeper understanding of Cambodia's culture and daily life.

3. Sihanoukville and the Southern Coast

Situated on Cambodia's southern coastline, Sihanoukville is the country's main beach destination and an important gateway to its tropical islands. While the city itself offers beaches, resorts, and seafood restaurants, many travellers use it as a base for exploring nearby coastal attractions.

Otres Beach remains one of the most popular spots thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and scenic shoreline. From Sihanoukville, regular ferries connect visitors to islands such as Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem, making it an excellent destination for beach holidays, water sports, and island-hopping adventures.

4. Battambang

Often overlooked by first-time visitors, Battambang is one of Cambodia's most charming and culturally rich cities. Known for its well-preserved French colonial architecture, art scene, and laid-back atmosphere, the city offers a different perspective on Cambodian life.

Visitors can ride the famous Bamboo Railway, explore local temples and villages, or attend performances at the Phare Ponleu Selpak cultural centre, which supports young Cambodian artists. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Battambang is also an excellent place to experience traditional Cambodian culture away from the country's more touristy destinations.

5. Koh Rong and the Island Archipelago

For travellers dreaming of white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, the Koh Rong Archipelago delivers one of Cambodia's best island experiences. Koh Rong is known for its long stretches of coastline, turquoise waters, and outdoor activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, swimming, and boat tours.

Nearby Koh Rong Sanloem offers a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for relaxation and nature lovers. Both islands are famous for their stunning sunsets and the magical sight of bioluminescent plankton glowing in the water at night, creating an unforgettable tropical escape.

Angkor Wat Guide for Indian Travellers

Angkor Wat is the centrepiece of every Cambodia itinerary, and it rewards more preparation than most travellers give it.

Entry Tickets and Pricing

Angkor Archaeological Park tickets are issued at the official Angkor Enterprise ticket centre on the main road from Siem Reap to the park:

  • 1-day pass: US$37 (approximately ₹3,070)
  • 3-day pass: US$62 (approximately ₹5,150) — valid any 3 days within 10 days
  • 7-day pass: US$72 (approximately ₹5,980) — valid any 7 days within 30 days

Tickets are not sold at the temple gates. Purchase tickets at the ticket centre the previous evening if you plan a sunrise visit; the centre opens from 05:00 AM for this purpose.

Best Time of Day to Visit Angkor Wat

  • Sunrise (5:00 AM – 7:00 AM): The most photographed moment in Cambodia, the sky behind Angkor Wat's five towers is reflected in the north reflecting pool. Extremely crowded; arrive by 5:00 AM at the latest. A private guide who positions you at the secondary western causeway viewpoint gives better compositions with significantly fewer people.
  • Late afternoon (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM): The second-best light, considerably less busy than sunrise. The inner galleries and bas-reliefs are best visited mid-morning (8:00 AM – 10:00 AM) before heat peaks.

Avoid 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in any season. Temperatures regularly reach 32–38°C, and crowds are at their worst.

Temple Circuit Recommendations

  • Small Circuit (one day): Angkor Wat + Angkor Thom (Bayon, Baphuon, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King) + Ta Prohm. This is the minimum meaningful circuit.
  • Grand Circuit (second day): Preah Khan + Neak Pean + Ta Som + East Mebon + Pre Rup. Most travellers skip this; Pre Rup at sunset is one of Angkor's best experiences.
  • Day 3 Extension: Banteay Srei (30 km from Siem Reap; outstanding pink sandstone carvings, smaller crowds) + Kbal Spean (river of a thousand lingas — a carved riverbed accessed by a 4 km trekking trail).
  • Dress Code: Angkor Wat enforces a strict dress code: shoulders and knees must be covered for entry into the central sanctuary. Sarongs are available for rent at the temple, but covering up before arrival is both respectful and practical. Lightweight cotton kurtas or linen trousers work well for Indian travellers.

Cultural Experiences in Cambodia

Cambodia's cultural depth extends well beyond the Angkor temples. These experiences give Indian travellers meaningful contact with Khmer history, performing arts, and local life.

Phare, The Cambodian Circus

More than just a circus show, Phare combines acrobatics, theatre, live music, dance, and storytelling to showcase Cambodian culture and history. Performed by talented artists trained through the Phare Ponleu Selpak arts school, the show tells powerful stories inspired by local traditions and modern Cambodian life. Held every evening in Siem Reap, it is one of the city's most popular cultural experiences and offers a memorable alternative to traditional sightseeing.

Traditional Apsara Dance

One of Cambodia's most treasured art forms, Apsara Dance is a graceful classical performance known for its elegant hand movements, detailed costumes, and slow, expressive choreography. The dance has deep roots in Khmer culture and is inspired by the celestial dancers depicted on the walls of Angkor Wat. Today, visitors can enjoy Apsara dance performances at cultural venues and restaurants across Siem Reap, making it a great way to experience Cambodia's artistic heritage.

Khmer Cooking Classes

Taking a Khmer cooking class is a fun way to learn about Cambodian food and culture. Most classes begin with a visit to a local market where participants discover traditional ingredients before preparing popular dishes such as Fish Amok, Cambodia's famous coconut curry. Along the way, visitors learn about local cooking techniques, spices, and flavours, making the experience both educational and enjoyable for food lovers.

Silk Weaving at Koh Dach (Silk Island)

Located near Phnom Penh, Koh Dach, also known as Silk Island, is famous for its traditional silk-weaving workshops. Visitors can watch local artisans create beautiful handmade silk fabrics using techniques passed down through generations. A visit to the island offers insight into Cambodia's textile heritage while providing the opportunity to purchase authentic handmade silk products directly from local communities.

Cambodian Landmine Museum

The Cambodian Landmine Museum near Siem Reap provides an important look into the country's recent history and the impact of decades of conflict. Founded by former deminer Aki Ra, the museum displays deactivated landmines and shares stories about ongoing demining efforts across Cambodia. The museum also supports community projects and educational initiatives, making it both an informative and meaningful place to visit for travellers interested in learning more about modern Cambodia.

Siem Reap vs Phnom Penh — Which City to Prioritise?

Most Cambodia itineraries include both cities, but how much time you allocate to each depends entirely on your priorities.

Feature

Siem Reap

Phnom Penh

Primary draw

Angkor Archaeological Park — temples, ruins, jungle-wrapped structures

History, culture, urban energy, Mekong riverfront

Pace

Moderate — early mornings at temples, quieter afternoons

Faster, more cosmopolitan city feel

Best for

Temple lovers, photographers, honeymooners, families with older children

History buffs, foodies, solo travellers, urban explorers

Must-see

Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, Tonle Sap Lake, Phare Circus

Royal Palace, Toul Sleng (S-21), Killing Fields, Central Market

Food scene

Strong tourist restaurant belt; excellent Khmer cuisine; Sky Garden Bar rooftop for sundowners

Verdict: If you only have 4 days, prioritise Siem Reap. Angkor is the reason most people visit Cambodia. If you have 6+ days, both cities are worth including. Phnom Penh provides essential historical context that makes Angkor more meaningful, not less.

Getting Around Within Cambodia

  • Tuk-tuk: The primary way to get around Siem Reap. A full-day tuk-tuk hire for the Angkor circuit costs US$12–18 (₹1,144 to ₹1,716) through your hotel or via PassApp (Cambodia's ride-hailing app). The open-air ride through the temple approach roads at dawn is an experience in itself.
  • PassApp: Cambodia's primary ride-hailing app in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap as of 2026 (Grab has exited the Cambodian market). More transparent than negotiating street fares.
  • Express Bus Siem Reap – Phnom Penh: Giant Ibis and Mekong Express are Cambodia's best bus operators, with air-conditioned coaches with Wi-Fi covering the 314 km route in approximately 6 hours for US$12–18 (₹1,144 to ₹1,716). Recommended for travellers who want to see the Cambodian countryside.
  • Domestic Flights: Cambodia Bayon Airlines and Cambodia Angkor Air operate Siem Reap–Phnom Penh (45 minutes, approximately US$55–90/ ₹5,244–8,582 each way). Worth it for tight itineraries.
  • Boat Siem Reap – Battambang: Seasonal (best October–January); a slow-boat crossing through flooded forest and Tonle Sap bird life. Approximately US$20–25 (₹1,905 to ₹2,382)per person, 4–8 hours, memorable if you have the time.

Cambodia Food Guide for Indian Travellers

Cambodian cuisine shares more DNA with Indian cooking than most travellers expect, including fermented condiments, aromatic pastes, coconut-based curries, and a reliance on fresh herbs. The central difference is the role of prahok (fermented fish paste), which provides the umami backbone in most Khmer dishes, the way tamarind and asafoetida do in South Indian cooking.

Must-Try Khmer Dishes

  • Fish Amok (Amok Trei): Cambodia's national dish, a light, creamy coconut milk curry steamed in banana leaves; the fish version is traditional, but chicken amok is widely available
  • Lok Lak: Stir-fried beef cubes with lime-pepper dipping sauce, served on rice, Cambodia's closest equivalent to a comfort food classic.
  • Khmer Red Curry: Less fiery than Thai equivalents, with a gentler lemongrass and galangal note, well-tolerated by travellers who find Thai green curry too sharp
  • Kuy Teav: A pork or beef noodle soup, Cambodia's breakfast staple, widely available at morning markets from 6:00 AM
  • Num Pang: Cambodian baguette sandwiches, a French colonial inheritance; best tried from street vendors near Phnom Penh's Central Market

Vegetarian and Jain Travellers in Cambodia

  • Indian restaurants are present in both Siem Reap (near Pub Street and on Sivatha Boulevard) and Phnom Penh (near the BKK1 neighbourhood), offering dal, roti, and vegetarian thali.s
  • Most Khmer restaurants offer tofu and vegetable versions of amok, curry, and stir-fries on request, aand nd use the phrase ot dak sach (without meat)
  • Jain-specific requirements (no root vegetables) are harder to accommodate outside Indian restaurants; pre-arrange Jain meals through Pickyourtrail when booking.
  • Hotel breakfasts at 4-star+ properties typically include bread, fruit, eggs, and occasionally Indian-influenced dishes.

Our Cambodia Tour Package Inclusions

Practical Tips for Indian Travellers in Cambodia

  • Currency: Carry US dollars in small denominations (US$1, US$5, US$20). Change is returned in Cambodian Riel. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels and larger restaurants; carry cash for temples, markets, and tuk-tuks.
  • SIM Card: Cellcard, Smart, and Metfone SIMs are available at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports; a tourist SIM with 10 GB data costs approximately US$3–5.
  • Dress Code: Carry a light scarf or stole for temple visits — shoulders and knees must be covered at Angkor Wat and other active religious sites. Applies to all genders.
  • Health: Consult your doctor about Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccinations before travel. Carry a basic stomach medicine kit.
  • Water: Do not drink tap water. Bottled water is universally available and costs US$0.25–0.50 per 1.5L bottle.
  • Tipping: Not mandatory but appreciated — US$1–2 per meal at local restaurants, US$5–10 for a full-day guide, US$5–10 for a full day's tuk-tuk hire.
  • PassApp vs Grab: Grab has exited Cambodia; PassApp is the primary ride-hailing app in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap as of 2026.
  • Safety: Major tourist areas (Siem Reap, Phnom Penh riverfront, Otres Beach) are generally safe. Standard precautions apply: be careful with valuables in crowded markets and avoid isolated streets after dark.

We recently visited Cambodia and Bangkok , Pattaya total 12 days tour . I would like to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience with the booking team, particularly with Ms. Rishika from PYT. I found her to be rude and adamant about certain facts, especially regarding the compulsory tips, which were not communicated clearly prior booking . On a positive note, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Ms. Anita ( Sales Manager) and Ms. Ganga for their cooperation and professionalism. They were very helpful, and I appreciate their support. If you're seeking an unforgettable stay in Cambodia/ Siam Reap , Angkor de Miracle property is a top-tier choice that delivers on every front. From the moment you arrive, you'll be impressed by the exceptional service and luxurious amenities. The breakfast spread is truly a feast for the senses, featuring a diverse array of fresh, delicious options that cater to every taste. The pool area is nothing short of spectacularluxurious and inviting, offering a perfect retreat for relaxation. Please refer attached photos . The spacious rooms are beautifully designed, providing a serene and comfortable haven after a day of exploration. However, what truly sets Angkor Miracle apart is the outstanding hospitality. Mr. Dara, the manager, stands out for his exceptional attentiveness and warmth, ensuring every guest feels valued and well-cared-for. Overall, Angkor de Miracle is a blend of luxury, comfort, and remarkable service, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Cambodia/ Siam Reap . Stayed at Oak Wood Hotel and Residence in Bangkok and service hospitality was satisfactory though there is a loty of room for improvement . Some of the front office /reception staff was found to be rude on telephone ( Mr Monty ). Noted trainees at the front desk / reception with not adequate knowledge on service and room service taxes for food and beverages . The rooms found without any wardrobe and clothes require to be hanged in open which is a put off ( Please refer attached photo ) . Even the handwash in the room was diluted, which felt very cheap. I ordered salmon fish from the menu, but it was not disclosed that it would be dried fish served , which was quite misleading. Breakfast though was found to be satisfactory . Stayed at the Centara Life Avenue Hotel at Pattaya , and it was a disappointing experience. The hotel is located inside a narrow/ congested lane, making access quite inconvenient ( Please refer attached photos ). The reception area is surprisingly small and cramped. Additionally, the lobby had a persistent smell of dried fish, which was off-putting. The staff exhibited stingy behavior when it came to breakfast, offering very limited options ( Please refer attached photos ) . Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations and I would not recommend it. Totally not a 4 star property which we had requested and expected . I hope this feedback helps in improving future interactions. Thanks and warm regards Capt. Altamash M Khot

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will a trip to Cambodia cost?

The cost of a Cambodia trip from India depends on the duration, travel season, and hotel category. Budget travellers can expect to spend around ₹21,317–₹32,000 per person for a 3–4 day trip, while mid-range packages typically range from ₹38,000–₹55,000 per person. Luxury Cambodia holidays with premium resorts and private experiences can cost ₹1,10,000 or more per person.

Is Cambodia better than Vietnam?

Cambodia and Vietnam offer very different experiences. Cambodia is best known for Angkor Wat, rich Khmer culture, and relaxed island escapes such as Koh Rong. Vietnam offers a wider variety of landscapes, bustling cities, and longer travel routes. If you're interested in history and temples, Cambodia is ideal, while Vietnam suits travellers looking for diverse scenery and city experiences. Many travellers choose to combine both destinations in a single trip.

What's the best month to visit Cambodia?

The best time to visit Cambodia is between November and February, when the weather is cooler, drier, and ideal for sightseeing. This period is particularly popular for visiting Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh, and Cambodia's islands. October and November also offer good value with fewer crowds and pleasant weather.

What are some hidden gems in Cambodia?

Beyond Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh, Cambodia has several lesser-known destinations worth exploring. Battambang offers colonial architecture and cultural experiences, while Koh Rong Sanloem provides peaceful beaches and excellent snorkelling. The Cardamom Mountains, Koh Dach (Silk Island), and the Cambodian Landmine Museum are also rewarding experiences for travellers looking to explore beyond the main tourist trail.

Do Indians need a visa for Cambodia?

Yes, Indian passport holders need a visa to enter Cambodia. The easiest option is the Cambodia e-Visa, which costs US$30 and can be applied for online. The visa is valid for a single entry and allows a stay of up to 30 days. Visa on arrival is also available at major Cambodian airports.

Can I combine Cambodia with Vietnam?

Yes, Cambodia and Vietnam are commonly combined into a single Southeast Asia holiday. Many travellers explore Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, and Koh Rong in Cambodia before continuing to destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Halong Bay, or Da Nang in Vietnam. A combined itinerary of 9–12 days offers the best experience.

How many days are enough for a Cambodia trip?

A minimum of 5–6 days is recommended for a first-time Cambodia trip, allowing enough time to explore Siem Reap and Phnom Penh comfortably. Travellers looking to add Koh Rong, Battambang, or a Vietnam extension should consider spending 7–12 days for a more complete experience.
