Seven nights give you a full week on the ground in Iceland, which is enough to go beyond Reykjavik and the Golden Circle. An Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package works best as a loop through the west and south, the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, the Golden Circle, the waterfalls and black sand beaches of the South Coast, and the glacier lagoon at Jokulsarlon. You see glaciers, lava fields, geysers and hot springs without driving more than three or four hours on most days. With 10+ years of travel expertise and strong destination knowledge, Pickyourtrail helps you choose the right route, stay and experiences for a 7-night Iceland holiday. Whether you want to chase the Northern Lights, drive yourself or travel with a guide, you can customise your itinerary around your interests, pace and budget.
Iceland Tour Package 7 Nights 8 Days
An Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package gives you more room to explore beyond Reykjavik and the classic Golden Circle. With an extra day compared with shorter Iceland itineraries, you can take a slower South Coast drive, add glacier and lagoon experiences, or venture further towards places such as Jokulsarlon and the surrounding landscapes.
Pickyourtrail lets you shape your Iceland tour package around how you want to travel. Choose a self-drive route for the freedom to stop along the way, or combine your Reykjavik stay with guided day tours and curated experiences. Your itinerary can be adjusted around your dates, budget, interests and preferred pace. A 7-night Iceland package can include:
- Comfortable stays across Iceland: Pick hotels in Reykjavik, countryside properties, guesthouses or farm stays based on your route and budget.
- Keflavik airport transfers: Arrange convenient transfers between Keflavik International Airport and your accommodation.
- Self-drive or guided exploration: Travel independently with a rental car or explore with guided tours, private transfers or a driver-guide.
- Golden Circle and South Coast: Discover Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss, along with Iceland's waterfalls, black-sand beaches and dramatic coastal landscapes.
- Glacier and ice experiences: Add a glacier hike, ice cave visit or other seasonal adventure to your itinerary.
- Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon: Visit one of Iceland's most striking natural attractions and add a boat tour when operating.
- Whale watching: Include a whale-watching experience from Reykjavik or another suitable location along your route.
- Northern Lights experiences: During the aurora season, add a Northern Lights tour and head away from city lights in search of clearer skies.
- Geothermal lagoon experiences: Relax at the Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon or Secret Lagoon, depending on your route and preferences.
- A fully customisable itinerary: Add, remove or rearrange stays, sightseeing and experiences to create a trip that suits you.
- 24/7 trip assistance: Get support before and during your Iceland holiday whenever you need it.
Best Iceland 7 Nights Itineraries
With seven nights, you can explore Iceland at a more comfortable pace and combine Reykjavik with some of the country's most scenic regions. Instead of trying to see everything, choose a route that matches how you want to travel, whether that means a classic road trip, a South Coast adventure or guided day tours from Reykjavik. Here are some popular ways to plan an Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package:
- Reykjavik, Snaefellsnes, Golden Circle & South Coast: A well-rounded route for first-time visitors, combining Reykjavik with Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Kirkjufell, Thingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, Vik and Jokulsarlon.
- Reykjavik, Golden Circle, South Coast & Vatnajokull: Ideal if you want to spend more time exploring Iceland's glaciers and dramatic landscapes. Add a glacier hike or seasonal ice-cave experience while staying closer to the Vatnajokull region.
- Reykjavik with guided day trips: Keep Reykjavik as your base and explore the Golden Circle, South Coast and Snaefellsnes Peninsula through organised tours. Add a Northern Lights tour during the aurora season. This works particularly well if you prefer not to drive.
- Reykjavik, South Coast & North Iceland: Combine the highlights of southern Iceland with a few days in the north. Fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri and explore attractions around Lake Mývatn, Godafoss and Husavik, including whale-watching experiences.
- Reykjavik & a slower South Coast road trip: Spend a few nights in the capital before driving east along the South Coast, with more time for waterfalls, black-sand beaches, glaciers and Jokulsarlon. This is a good choice if you prefer fewer hotel changes and a relaxed driving itinerary.
Sample 7 Nights Iceland Itinerary
An Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package works well as a self-drive loop with five overnight stops. Here's a sample west and south itinerary to show how the days can come together.
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
Land at Keflavik, transfer to Reykjavik and check in. Walk to Hallgrímskirkja church, the Harpa concert hall and the Sun Voyager sculpture, then have dinner along Laugavegur.
Day 2: Reykjavik to Snaefellsnes
Drive about two hours to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Stop at the black church of Budir, the sea cliffs at Arnarstapi and Djupalonssandur beach, then stay near Grundarfjordur with Kirkjufell mountain in view.
Day 3: Snaefellsnes to the Golden Circle
Visit Kirkjufellsfoss in the morning light and the harbour town of Stykkisholmur. Drive to Thingvellir National Park, where you can walk between two tectonic plates, and stay around Laugarvatn or Fludir.
Day 4: Geysir, Gullfoss and on to Vik
Watch Strokkur erupt at the Geysir geothermal area and see Gullfoss waterfall. Soak in the Secret Lagoon at Fludir, then continue to the South Coast for Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss before reaching Vik.
Day 5: Vik to Jokulsarlon
Start at Reynisfjara black sand beach and its basalt columns. Drive east through lava fields to Skaftafell, then on to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach. Stay near the lagoon or in Hofn.
Day 6: Glacier Day and Return West
Join a glacier hike on an outlet of Vatnajokull, or a natural ice cave tour between November and March. In summer, take a boat tour on the lagoon instead. Drive back towards Vik or Hella for the night.
Day 7: Back to Reykjavik
Return to the capital in about two hours. Spend the afternoon at the Sky Lagoon, on a whale watching trip from the Old Harbour, or shopping for woollens and souvenirs.
Day 8: Departure
Enjoy breakfast and transfer to Keflavik for your flight. If you have a late departure, the Blue Lagoon is about 20 minutes from the airport. Travelling in deep winter? Swap the self-drive for a Reykjavik base with guided day tours and two northern lights evenings.
What Can You Cover in an Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package?
An Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package comfortably covers the west and the south. Here's what you can experience:
- Reykjavik: Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa, the Old Harbour, Perlan Museum, and the Sky Lagoon.
- Snaefellsnes Peninsula: Kirkjufell, Arnarstapi, Budir, Djupalonssandur and Snaefellsjokull National Park.
- Golden Circle: Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss and Kerid crater.
- South Coast: Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Reynisfjara beach, Vik and the Solheimajokull glacier.
- Vatnajokull region: Skaftafell, Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, Diamond Beach and Fjallsarlon.
Tip: Keep the full Ring Road for a longer trip. Reykjavik to Jokulsarlon alone is about five hours of driving one way, so a week is better spent on the west and south with time to stop.
Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package Price
Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package with Pickyourtrail starts from ₹80,979 per person. Actual pricing shifts based on a few variables:
- Departure city and dates: There are no direct flights from India to Iceland, so fares depend on your European connection and how early you book.
- Season: June to August is peak season with the highest hotel and car rental rates. Winter and shoulder months are usually easier on the budget.
- Stay type: Guesthouses and farm stays cost less than city hotels and boutique countryside lodges.
- Self-drive or guided: A shared rental car is often the most economical for couples and families, while private driver-guides and super jeep tours cost more.
- Vehicle type: A small 2WD works for summer on main roads. A 4x4 is the safer choice in winter and costs more.
- Activities: Glacier hikes, ice caves, snowmobiling, whale watching and lagoon entries are priced individually and add up quickly.
- Meals: Eating out in Iceland is expensive, so the number of included meals affects the total.
What's Included in an Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package?
An Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package can include the key essentials for a smooth week, with inclusions depending on your chosen itinerary. Typically, you can expect:
- 7 nights of accommodation in Reykjavik and along your route
- Airport transfers for arrival and departure
- Rental car with basic insurance, or guided day tours, as per your plan
- Sightseeing and activities listed in your selected itinerary
- Daily breakfast at most stays
- 24/7 on-trip assistance for support whenever you need it
International flights, Schengen visa, travel insurance, fuel, parking fees, lunches, dinners and personal expenses are usually separate unless specifically mentioned in your package. Always check the inclusions and exclusions before booking.
Are 7 Nights Enough for an Iceland Trip?
Yes. Seven nights are enough for Reykjavik, Snaefellsnes, the Golden Circle and the South Coast up to Jokulsarlon at a comfortable pace. It also leaves room for a weather buffer, which matters in Iceland. What a week cannot do well is the full Ring Road with the north and the East Fjords. For that, plan nine nights or more.
Best Time to Book an Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package
The best time depends on what you want to see.
- June to August: Long days, the midnight sun around June, open roads and the mildest weather. Best for self-drive trips, puffins and hiking, but also the busiest and most expensive months.
- September and October: Autumn colours, fewer visitors and dark enough nights for the northern lights, with roads still mostly clear.
- November to March: Northern lights season, natural ice caves and snowy landscapes. Daylight is short, around four to five hours in December, and storms can close roads.
- April and May: Longer days, lower prices and returning birdlife. Some highland roads and trails remain closed.
If your dates are flexible, June to early September suits a first self-drive week, while late September, February and March give a good balance of daylight and northern lights chances.
An Iceland 7 Nights 8 Days Package for Every Traveller
Whether you are planning a romantic escape, a family holiday or an adventure-filled road trip, seven nights give you enough flexibility to shape Iceland around your travel style. Choose the experiences you care about most and build your itinerary without following a one-size-fits-all route.
- Couples: Make yourIceland honeymoon package more romantic with countryside stays, private hot tubs, geothermal lagoons, scenic drives and a Northern Lights experience during the right season.
- Families: An Iceland family tour package can combine manageable driving days with family-friendly experiences such as waterfalls, geothermal areas, Icelandic horse rides and whale-watching tours.
- Adventure Seekers: Add outdoor experiences such as glacier hikes, Silfra snorkelling, snowmobiling, ice-cave tours and other seasonal adventures to your Iceland adventure tour package.
- Northern Lights Seekers: Plan your trip during the Northern Lights season, generally from September to March, and include countryside stays or guided aurora tours away from bright city lights.
- Road Trippers: A self-drive itinerary through western and southern Iceland gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace, stop at scenic viewpoints and spend more time at the places that interest you.
- Luxury Travellers: Upgrade your Iceland luxury tour package with boutique countryside stays, private sightseeing, premium experiences, chauffeur-driven tours and exclusive geothermal lagoon experiences.

My family and I took a trip to Iceland with Pickyourtrail 2 weeks ago, and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences we've ever had. We travelled there to see aurora lights and we got extremely happy to see them on all nights during our stay in Reykjavik! Thanks very much to the team at Pickyourtrail who helped us every step of our way through this trip. The itinerary was perfectly created as per our choices. The hotels they chose for us in Akureyri and Vik were also centrally located with so many amenities. They kept us informed about every small thing on trip, which made our holiday hassle-free as they state. Their support chat is round the clock and they will get back to you even in the middle of the night, which was very useful to us when we faced minor inconveniences during an activity but their team resolved those issues almost immediately. I will definitely recommend their services to everyone. Will surely reach out to them for my next international holiday. Thank you team Pickyourtrail, once again!

Was very happy to work with Samrit from Pick your trail. I wanted to plan an offbeat trip to Iceland and in fact got a lot of useful information from him that is otherwise difficult to procure from googling. He was very patient in understanding my requirements and gave suggestions here and there. Being a constant traveller, he is one of the best travel planners I have worked with :-) Highly recommending Pick Your Trail. Will definitely come back to them for my next trip.
