Known as the third largest city in Hungary, Szeged lies close to the borders of Romania and Serbia. It is an appealing city but it is very difficult to point out a single best thing in the city. It has amazing architecture, gardenlike main square and a lot of streetside-cafe. The year-round cultural performances and the lively university-town vibe is also another attraction of the city.

Szeged is a perfect city to relax and walk around. It has open spaces and wide, pedestrianized streets lined with Neoclassical and Art Nouveau style buildings. The main attractions of the city include Szeged Zoo, Votive Church, Dom Square, Napfenyfurdo Aquapolis, Szeged Synagogue, Karasz utca, Botanical Garden of the University of Szeged, REOK - Regional Art Centre, Mora Ferenc Muzeum, Szechenyi Square, Water Tower, National Pantheon, City Hall and more on your Hungary packages.

Public Transport

Trains- There are trains from Budapest and it takes about 2 hours. These trains also stop at Ferihegy, Terminal 1, meaning it isn't necessary to travel into the centre of Budapest. For the size of the city, Szeged has a really good public transportation network. Within the city you can get around by cabs (taxi), trams (villamos), electric buses (trolibusz) or buses (autóbusz). If you wish to use these types of public transportation, you will need to find out about their routes(there are several), stops and schedules. During the workdays, in the busy hours, within the city, most public transportation vehicles will leave every 10-15 minutes.

Taxi & Airport transfer

There are plenty of Taxi options across the city. You can find taxis at the Railway station, and other top spots. The taxi drivers may not understand English but should be able to get you where you want to go

Transport & city passes

You can also purchase weekly and monthly passes as well as single-trip tickets from various kiosks and newspaper stands throughout the city. These passes will be valid for all 3 types of public transportation,so you can travel by trams, trolley buses and buses as well. There are also discounts offered to students and seniors

Driving & Car rental

If you are driving from Budapest, you as well rent a car from the city. There are couple of cheap car renting options available in the city. The driver needs to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) and must have suffecient bank balance before taking the car.
