How is the weather going to be in Bhutan in June?

June is one of the pleasant months to visit Bhutan. Though June is the onset of monsoon, not every place in Bhutan receives rainfall. It is also observed over the decades that June in Bhutan has only been pleasant. Pre-monsoon showers can be expected in southern and eastern parts of Bhutan, that too in the second half of the day. The temperature will range between 15-25 degree celsius so make sure to have a cup of aromatic tea while you are there.

Festivals celebrated in June

One better way to celebrate and enjoy the Bhutanese culture is by taking part in the festivals. If you are making it to Bhutan in June, here are the festivals you can visit.

1. Nimalung Tsechu

The festival is celebrated for 3 days with chams and dances. On the last day, people also get blessings of Guru Rinpoche. It is popularly celebrated in Nimalung Dratshang and Bumthang Dzongkhag.

2. Kurjey Tsechu

Being one of the most celebrated festivals in Bumthang, people mainly gather as respect to Guru Rinpoche who spread Buddhism in Bhutan. It is celebrated only for a day with dances including Shinjay Cham and Guru Tshengye. The final part of the festival is the Thongdrel being unfurled.

Kurjey Tsechu starts on the final day of the three-day festival Nimalung Tsechu.
