How to get a Singapore tourist visa from India?

The process for getting your Singapore Visa isn’t as complicated and time-consuming as compared to most other countries. Travellers need to keep in mind that the attainment of your e-visa, needs to be done by either a local sponsor or a certified agent. 

Documents required for a Singapore tourist visa

It’s important to make sure that all the documents submitted by you are in English. If they are in your regional language, then make sure you get them translated to English. 

List of Documents

  • Original Current Passport with a minimum of 2 blank pages and 6-month validity at the time of departure.
  • Old passport, if any.
  • Photocopy of passport bio-data page.
  • Duly filled and signed Form 14A
  • Two most recent (taken not more than 3 months before) color photographs with prescribed specifications by ICA.

Additional Documents

Singapore High Commission can request additional documentation on a case-by-case basis.

  • A Cover letter addressing ‘The Embassy of Singapore or The Consulate General of Singapore’  that states the date of travel, number of travelers, the purpose of visit, itinerary details, and duration of stay in the country and duly signed by the applicant. Use plain A4 Paper, if employed and use company letterhead with a stamp, if self-employed.
  • Confirmed return flight tickets
  • Address Proof if the address on the passport is different from the current address.
  • Marriage Certificate, if the name of the spouse isn’t mentioned in the passport.
  • Original Wedding Card is mandatory for the couples going for their honeymoon.
  • Bank Statements for the last 6 months with the bank stamp and signature to show sufficient funds for the entire period of stay in Singapore.
  • Leave Letter (NOC) from the Company, a copy of employee ID, Salary Statements for the last 3 months, ITR last 3 years; if employed.
  • Company Registration Proof or Memorandum of Association (MOA) or Partnership Deed and visiting card; if self-employed.
  • Copy of the student ID card or Bonafide Certificate, Leave Letter from school, or college; if a student.
  • Retirement Proof, if retired.
  • No objection certificate on 100 INR stamp paper and a copy of a passport or any ID proof from the non-accompanying parent, if a minor is traveling alone or is accompanied by one parent.
  • NOC and a copy of passport or any ID proof from the husband, if the wife is traveling alone.
  • Form V39A (Letter of Introduction) and a copy of his or her ID card issued by the Singapore Government, if you are invited or sponsored by the local contact or Hotel Booking Proof if staying in a hotel.

When is the right time to apply for a Singapore tourist visa?

It’s advisable for travellers to apply for their visa at least 30 days prior to their date of travel. The e-visa processing time most often takes about 24 to 72 hours, while in some cases it can take much longer.

Use your visa application reference number and your passport number to check the status of your visa application online. 

Is there a specific number of days to attain your Singapore tourist visa?

On a regular basis, your tourist’s e-visa process would take about 4 to 5 days; leaving aside weekends and public holidays, if any. In some cases though, the process takes a longer duration of time. 

Is there a time limit for an Indian citizen with a visa to stay in Singapore?

Your stay in Singapore can be for a maximum limit of 30 days. Please note that this 30 day period can either be used in one go or can be used over a span of 2 years – from the date of issue of your visa.

Does Singapore visa get rejected? 

Most Indians get their Singapore visa without much hassle. Though in exceptional circumstances, some others have had their visa rejected as well. The grounds of rejection are most often not given by the consulate. The probable reasons being – invalid documents, applying for your visa again when the current visa hasn’t even expired. Collection of your Documents
