Where to get Greece Visa for Indians

For Indian citizens, you can apply for a Greece visa online on the official website of the Visa Application Centre (VAC) to book an appointment. It is a secure procedure, which is designed to help you plan your trip better and will save your time at the submission counter at the VAC for Greece.

After completing the form, you have to print it, sign it and bring it along with the requested supporting documents to your appointment at the VAC. Also, your biometric data (10 fingerprints and digital photos) will be taken and note that appearance in person is necessary for all applicants regardless of age and is mandatory for biometrics.

Types of Greece Visa for Indians

Schengen visa is needed for Greece and you can apply for it, at the Visa application centre:

  1. Short term stay visa – It is applied if you are planning to stay in Greece for not more than 90 days.
  2. Long term stay visa – It is applied if you are planning to stay in Greece for more than 3 months. It is to be applied for reasons like – work, studies, academic research, religious, scientific or family reunification events, etc

Documents Required to Obtain Greece Visa for Indians

The Greece Embassy/Consular Office has the right to have all the documents they need and may even call you for an interview. So, Here is a list of Greece visa documents you may require for your application –

  1. You will need to download, fill and sign the visa application form from the official website of the visa application centre.
  2. Passport, valid for 3 months before the expiry date, should have at least 2 blank pages and issued within the past 10 years.
  3. Photocopy of passport’s front and last page.
  4. 2 Colored passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4 cm, with white background, not more than a 6-month-old photograph, face and ears should be clearly visible and it should be on good quality paper.)
  5. Your complete itinerary including – Flight reservation of return or round ticket, Hotel reservations, campus residence reservation, or if the applicant intends to stay with a friend, proof of sponsorship or private accommodation from the host.
  6. Proof of financial status – Bank statement of last 3 months, Income tax return of past 2 years, payslips for last 3 months duly stamped and signed by the bank.
  7. Travel Insurance with minimum coverage of EUR 30000/INR 23,60,966.

The required documents and completed, signed visa application is to be submitted to one of the Visa Application Centres in India. Along with the required fees and some additional charges by VAC as Service Fee.

  • Visa fees for adults – INR 4200
  • Visa fees for children below 12 yrs – Free

Visa Processing Time for Greece Visa

The processing time for a Greece visa is a maximum of 15 days and may also extend to 30 -60 days for exceptional cases.

Kindly note, if you are submitting your application in Cochin/Sri Lanka and Pondicherry Application Centre for Greece, the processing time will be 2 more working days adding to normal days, by the Embassy.

The applicant must purchase the travel insurance before applying for a Greece visa for Indians as it is one of the requirements for the Schengen visa.

  1. The minimum coverage shall be INR 23,60,966 and should include medical evacuation/repatriation.
