Split, fondly called as the "Mediterranean flower" is the second largest city in the country and the largest city in Dalmatia region. This picturesque city is sandwiched between stunning mountains on one side and crystal clear Adriatic sea on the other. It once served as a transit destination for travelers because of it's excellent transport connections but now is one among the top 3 most visited cities in the country. This typical Mediterranean town is always vibrant, charming and fun. Experience life as it's been lived for thousands of years in Diocletian's Palace, one of the world's most imposing Roman remains - this palace is a must visit as the entire city was built surrounding this palace.
Also, do not miss the opportunity to hop around nearby islands, visit museums and art galleries, stroll along the seafront promenade, hike Marjan Hill, relax in cool curbside cafes, and explore the nightlife.
