Whether you're exploring coral reefs, hiking volcanoes, or stargazing in New Zealand, Oceania offers Indian travellers a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With careful planning and our detailed guide, Indian travellers can navigate Oceania’s wonders effortlessly and create unforgettable memories across its diverse landscapes and cultures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Australia and New Zealand?

Yes. Apply for an eVisitor (Australia) or Visitor Visa (New Zealand) online. Both processes require proof of funds, travel itinerary, and health declarations.

What is the minimum budget for a 10‑day Australia trip from India?

Mid‑range travel (flights, hotels, car hire, activities) starts at ₹2–2.5 lakh per person. Costs can be optimised by booking early and choosing off‑peak seasons.

When is the best time to visit New Zealand for hiking and adventure sports?

Summer (December–February) offers warm weather and full access to hiking trails, bungee jumping, and water sports. Shoulder seasons (March–April, October–November) are less crowded.

Can I include the Pacific Islands (Fiji, Samoa) in the same itinerary as Australia/New Zealand?

Yes, many travellers combine Australia/New Zealand with Fiji or Vanuatu by adding short flights. Check multi-destination fares and regional airlines like Fiji Airways.

What are the top bucket‑list experiences in Oceania?

  • Diving/snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef
  • Hiking the Milford Track (NZ)
  • Sydney Opera House tour
  • Māori cultural experiences in Rotorua
  • Volcanic landscapes on White Island (NZ)

How do I plan for extreme weather events (cyclones, bushfires) in Oceania?

Travel insurance with natural disaster coverage is essential. Monitor local weather advisories via Bureau of Meteorology (Australia) and MetService (NZ) websites, and be flexible with your itinerary.

It was really a good experience with pickyourtrail. Everything went very smooth and thanks to the PYT team. Did not face any issues with any transfers or the activities customised in the itinerary, all went as planned and on time. Small suggestion (not that important considering implementation will be very difficult) is to give some room for the last minute update in transfer timings for the private and shared transfers or atleast to have option to choose from 2 time slots for pickup and drop for shared transfers, so we will have some room to relax after the activities.
