Day 2
Start your day with a canal cruise and witness in a boat the most popular landmarks of Amsterdam.
Amsterdam Canal Boat Cruise
Commence your cruise from Amsterdam Central Station and enjoy a tour of the famous and most iconic sights of Amsterdam. Cruise through lovely canals, historic bridges, and picturesque merchant houses that give the city it’s a lovely charm. Anne Frank house
After your canal cruise, visit Anne Frank’s house, the building at Prinsengracht 263 where Anne Frank and her family along with four others lived for more than two years, in hiding from Nazi persecution during World war II. Now a house turned into a biographical museum, it contains quotations from Anne’s diary, photographs, and original objects that belonged to those in hiding and illustrate the events that took place there. Currently, Anne’s original diary and other notebooks are on display in this museum for the view of the public.
Jordaan
From Anne Frank’s house, head on to this popular Amsterdam neighborhood to enjoy fine dining and shopping experiences. Famous for its residential area with garden courtyards, upscale boutiques, and eateries, this picturesque region of Amsterdam is a fun place to wander for all tourists. Indulge in a cup of coffee in one of Jordaan’s restaurants and sit and people watch while enjoying traditional Dutch folk music.
Heineken Experience
After your stroll through Jordaan, head on to this place, because if you are a beer lover, this place is just going to make your day. Earlier a brewery, now converted into a museum, takes you on a ride through the journey of Heineken. Enjoy a good tour of the beer making process and indulge in some beer games. End your tour toasting to a glass of fine beer and some Heineken experience souvenirs to take back home.
Rembrandt Museum
If you are a museum person, this is another museum you can visit on your Amsterdam tour. This was the former home of Rembrandt and the place where he spent his most successful years painting. Located close to the Chinese quarter in Amsterdam, the museum shows the unknown aspects of the famous painter’s life and his artistic craft.
Red-light district
End your day at the Red-light district because here’s where the night comes alive. The area is surrounded with bars in every nook and corner and here is where the concentration of prostitution and sex-oriented businesses, such as sex shops, strip clubs, and adult theaters, are found. Take a stroll through the area and get the experience of being transported to another world. At the district, don’t miss to visit the Red light secrets Museum, as the museum offers exhibits on the history of Amsterdam’s sex-work industry.
