6-7 days would be an ideal time to spend in Thailand owing to its vast landscape and an amazing list of islands to visit and umpteen things to do in them. Ideally 3 days in Bangkok, 2 days in Phuket, 2 days in Pattaya/Koh Samui/Krabi would be sound like a perfect itinerary.

The best time to take up Thailand tour would be anywhere between November and the end of February when the weather is cooler. Holidays like New Year and Christmas bring in the crowds, so remember to book well in advance. March to June is ideal if you are a beach person, also being just the time before the rains begin. If you avoid crowds and occasional rains do not bother you, you could probably choose the July to October period.

Thailand offers visa on arrival for Indians. Upon arrival at one of the 32 designated Immigration checkpoints, you have to furnish your airline boarding pass, visa application form duly filled, 4x6 recent passport size photograph, return flight tickets 15 days from the date of entry in Thailand, Thailand arrival card provided during flight, hotel booking confirmation for stay in Thailand, 10,000THB as proof of living expenses per person and finally 2000THB visa on arrival application fee.
