- Handpicked stays such as city hotels, alpine lodges and lakefront apartments
- Airport transfers at both ends of the trip
- Scenic rail on the TranzAlpine between Christchurch and Greymouth
- Sightseeing and experiences like a glacier heli-hike, a Milford Sound cruise and the Te Anau glowworm caves
- Rental car or coach travel between stops, based on your preference
- Customisable itineraries with flexible activity choices
- 24/7 trip assistance throughout your holiday
Best New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Itineraries
A New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package gives you more flexibility to explore a region in depth or combine the country's major highlights without rushing. With five to six bases, you can add scenic drives, glacier stops, or extra time in Queenstown and still keep the itinerary manageable. Here are some route ideas:
- South Island Circuit: Christchurch, Franz Josef, Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anau and Mount Cook make a scenic loop through the South Island, combining glaciers, alpine lakes, fjords and mountain towns.
- Two Islands with Glaciers: Start in Auckland and Rotorua before flying to Christchurch and continuing towards the West Coast, Franz Josef and Queenstown. This route combines North Island culture and geothermal landscapes with South Island scenery.
- Two Islands, Easy Pace: Combine Auckland and Rotorua with Queenstown, Te Anau and Lake Tekapo. Spending three nights in Queenstown gives you more time for local experiences, day trips and adventure activities.
- Kaikoura, Mount Cook & Queenstown: Travel from Christchurch through Kaikoura, Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook, Wanaka and Queenstown. This route is ideal for combining whale watching, alpine scenery and scenic road trips.
- North Island in Depth: Explore Auckland, the Bay of Islands, Rotorua, Taupo and Wellington by road. This itinerary focuses on beaches, Māori culture, geothermal attractions, volcanic landscapes and the North Island's major cities.
Sample 10 Nights 11 Days New Zealand Itinerary
Here is a sample South Island circuit to show how a New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package can flow.
Day 1: Arrival in Christchurch
Arrive in Christchurch and check in. Stretch your legs in Hagley Park or along the Avon River and have an early night.
Day 2: TranzAlpine to Greymouth and Franz Josef
Board the TranzAlpine for a rail journey of about five hours across the Canterbury Plains and Arthur's Pass. From Greymouth, continue by road for around two and a half hours to Franz Josef.
Day 3: Franz Josef Glacier
Take a heli-hike or scenic flight onto the glacier if the weather allows, or walk the valley trails and soak in the hot pools. Flights depend on visibility, so keep this day flexible.
Day 4: Franz Josef to Wanaka
Drive south past Lake Matheson and over the Haast Pass, stopping at the Blue Pools and waterfalls. Reach Wanaka in about four hours of driving.
Day 5: Wanaka to Queenstown
Spend the morning by Lake Wanaka and its famous lone tree, then cross the Crown Range to Queenstown with a stop in Arrowtown.
Day 6: Queenstown
A free day for the Skyline Gondola, a jet boat or bungy, a cruise on the TSS Earnslaw steamship or a drive to Glenorchy.
Day 7: Queenstown to Te Anau
A two-hour drive brings you to Te Anau. Take the evening boat trip to the Te Anau glowworm caves.
Day 8: Milford Sound and back to Queenstown
Drive the Milford Road with stops at the Mirror Lakes and the Homer Tunnel, cruise the fiord, and return to Queenstown by evening.
Day 9: Queenstown to Aoraki / Mount Cook
Head north via the Lindis Pass and along Lake Pukaki to Mount Cook village, about three and a half hours away. Take a short walk in the national park.
Day 10: Mount Cook to Christchurch via Lake Tekapo
Stop at Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd, then continue to Christchurch for your final night.
Day 11: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Want both islands? Replace Franz Josef and Wanaka with two nights each in Auckland and Rotorua, then fly south to Queenstown.
What Can You Cover in a New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package?
A New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package gives you enough time to explore the South Island's major highlights without turning the trip into a series of long drives. Depending on your route, you can experience:
- Christchurch: Explore the Botanic Gardens, take a punt along the Avon River and use the city as a starting point for your South Island road trip or TranzAlpine journey.
- West Coast: Visit Franz Josef Glacier, walk around Lake Matheson and add Punakaiki's famous Pancake Rocks if your route allows.
- Wanaka: Slow down beside the lake, explore short scenic trails and enjoy views of the Southern Alps away from the busier tourist hubs.
- Queenstown: Mix adventure activities with lake cruises, a visit to historic Arrowtown or a scenic day in Glenorchy.
- Fiordland: Base yourself in Te Anau for easier access to the Milford Road and a cruise through the dramatic landscapes of Milford Sound.
- Aoraki / Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo: Experience New Zealand's highest mountain, turquoise glacial lakes, scenic walking trails and some of the country's best stargazing conditions.
Tip: Schedule weather-dependent experiences such as glacier heli-hikes and Milford Sound cruises earlier in your stay rather than on your final day. This gives you some flexibility to reschedule if weather causes a cancellation.
New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package Price
New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package with Pickyourtrail starts from ₹230,608 per person. Actual pricing shifts based on a few variables:
- Departure city and dates: Long-haul airfare from India is a large share of the cost and moves with season and booking window.
- Hotel tier: Small towns such as Franz Josef and Mount Cook have limited rooms, so rates climb fast in peak months.
- Route: A one-island circuit avoids a domestic flight; a two-island plan adds one.
- Transport style: Self-drive, coach passes or private transfers are priced very differently. One-way car rentals can carry a drop-off charge.
- Premium experiences: Heli-hikes, scenic flights and the TranzAlpine are optional but significant add-ons.
- Season: Summer and school holidays cost the most; autumn and spring are easier on the budget.
What's Included in a New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package?
A New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package typically includes the following, depending on the itinerary you select:
- 10 nights of accommodation across your chosen stops
- Arrival and departure airport transfers
- Rental car, coach or rail travel between destinations as planned
- Sightseeing and activities named in your itinerary
- Daily breakfast at select hotels
- 24/7 on-trip assistance
International flights, visas, travel insurance, fuel, optional activities and personal expenses are usually separate unless specifically mentioned in your package. Always check the inclusions and exclusions before booking.
Are 10 Nights Enough for a New Zealand Trip?
Yes. Ten nights is enough to do the South Island properly, including the West Coast, or to see both islands at a comfortable pace. What it does not allow is visiting every region in both islands, so a full South Island loop plus Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington would still feel rushed.
Best Time for a New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package
The best time for a New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package depends on whether your priority is scenic road trips, outdoor adventures, winter sports or quieter travel. New Zealand is a year-round destination, but each season offers a different experience.
- December to February – Summer: Longer daylight hours make it easier to fit scenic drives, hikes and outdoor activities into each day. Popular destinations and smaller towns can get busy, so book accommodation and key experiences early.
- March to May – Autumn: Cooler days, fewer crowds and colourful foliage around Wanaka and Arrowtown make autumn a great time for a relaxed road trip. Driving conditions are generally comfortable before winter sets in.
- June to August – Winter: Snow-covered mountains transform Queenstown and Wanaka into popular winter destinations, with skiing and snowboarding in season. Some alpine roads may require snow chains, while weather can affect access to areas such as Milford Sound.
- September to November – Spring: Longer days return, waterfalls are particularly impressive in Fiordland, and the landscapes become greener. Expect changeable weather, especially along the West Coast, so keep some flexibility in your itinerary.
For a New Zealand self-drive itinerary, November to April generally offers the easiest conditions for long scenic drives and outdoor activities. If skiing, snowboarding and snowy landscapes are your priority, winter is the season to consider.
A New Zealand 10 Nights 11 Days Package for Every Traveller
- Couples: A New Zealand honeymoon package can combine lakeside stays in Wanaka and Queenstown with a scenic glacier flight, a Milford Sound cruise and romantic experiences along the way.
- Families: A New Zealand family tour package can include the TranzAlpine train, glowworm caves, gentle lake walks and family-friendly attractions, with a route designed to keep long driving days manageable.
- Adventure Seekers: A New Zealand adventure tour package can add glacier heli-hikes, canyon swings, skydiving, jet boating and other adrenaline-filled experiences across Queenstown and the South Island.
- Road Trippers: A New Zealand self-drive package can take you through scenic routes such as Haast Pass, Crown Range and Lindis Pass, with the freedom to stop at viewpoints and small towns along the way.
- Nature Lovers: A New Zealand nature tour package can bring together Lake Matheson's reflections, Milford Sound's fjords, the Southern Alps and the dark skies of Aoraki / Mount Cook for a landscape-filled holiday.

Planned my first trip with PYT to New Zealand. Splendid experience with the destination and PYT team. Took a self drive trip and no major hiccups. What I liked about PYT was the experience before the trip started. In terms of planning, VISA, logistics, they were more then accommodating with my requests. The communication with their support staff on the app is seamless too, they help you with a ton of things to do and on spot booking as well. All in all, will definitely recommend them!

I had planned my New Zealand vacation via Pickyourtrail in May 2023. Starting from guiding me with the tour dates keeping visa issuance time period in mind, to helping me secure Visa with prompt followups with the Embassy, the Pre-Trip support was amazing. While on the trip, their 24*7 customer support was very prompt with timely trip & Activity intimations to resolving issues then and there. There was a small mistake with the cab planning where the cab drop was arranged for Queenstown while it was supposed to be Christchurch. The support team was very timely in coordinating and getting it changed with the Rental Service Provider else we would have gotten stuck as it was almost closing time. Now coming to the post Trip, Pickyourtrail ensured to follow up with me and get the refunds done with a few days despite waiting for my request. On the whole it was a crazy ride for me in New Zealand and all thanks to Pickyourtrail and it's team for making my first international vacation memorable.
