So you have been to 10 theme parks? 50? Okay, 100?! It doesn’t matter anyway. Introducing you to the world’s unique and most drool-worthy food theme park of FICO Eataly world. Spread over a massive 100,000 square metre of land in Bologna, FICO Eataly world is an embodiment of Italian biodiversity.

Open to the public from November 15, FICO – Fabbrica Italiana Contadina, the Italian Farming Factory is unlike any other marketplace and will make you go awe in no time! Start by going on a visit to the farming factories that includes an Italian craft brewery, flour and a rice mill. There are over 40 factories from which you can closely observe the processing of fish, meat, oil, cheese, and pasta.

Feeling hungry after all the observation? You have over 45 food places to dine at. For serious, yes! From rattorias to starred restaurants to bistros to street-food kiosks, there’s option for every mood. Prepared with simple and fresh, farm to table ingredients the Italian food on offer at these diners will enlighten your senses.

Discover the different ingredients used in your food by going on a tour of the 20,000 square metre of agribusiness farm land used to breed animals (milk cattle, sheeps, rabbits, goats, pigs, geese, horses) and Italian crops (citrus fruits, shrubs, fruit trees, cereals, vegetables, olives). The quality of the environment they are raised in will clear every bit of doubt that you have in your minds.

You can grab the produce as well. Just head on to the FICO farmer’s market section. The 9,000 square metre shopping area sells food products to tableware to kitchen equipment. And you don’t have to worry about carrying everything back. There’s the option for home delivery.

But wait, if you suddenly realize that you have so far explored only food places and wondering if there are any rides at all? Here’s the happy news. There are 6 innovative multimedia rides – Man and fire, Man and the Earth, Man: from land to bottle, Man and the Sea, Man and animals, & Man and the Future explaining the origins of mankind.

Gained some extra pounds inside the FICO Eataly world, sweat it out by playing any of the sports. There’s beach volleyball, beach tennis , paddle tennis, and foot volley. The fields are also available for booking.

Further, there are over 30 events and 50 classes conducted every day. Among the lot some of the interesting classes include – hunting of the truffles, the life of bees, pizza & pasta workshops, from vine to wine, zumba lessons, and creative workshop for kids.

Finding the whole journey a bit overwhelming? You can seek the help of the Ambassadors of Biodiversity. There are 40 of them on the premises. The qualified professionals will take you through every nook & corner of FICO Eataly world making sure you revel in the magic as everyone does. There are four different tours you can choose from:

FICO Grand Tour – Takes you through the rich biodiversity of Italian food
FICO and nature – You get closer to 200 animal breeds and 2000 plants cultivated in the agrifarm
From field to fork – Understand the flow of the food products from raw material to finished product
The peasant factories – An inside look at how food is manufactured

If you think, you have to walk for a long time exploring the whole of FICO Eataly world, here’s the interesting part. There are in-house Bianchi trikes with front and back wicker baskets to roam around. How cool!

First envisioned in 2012, FICO Eataly world is a result of the collaboration of Agri-Food centre of Bologna and Eataly. FICO Eataly world is open daily from 10 am to midnight and there is also a community centre that can house up to 1000 people.

For those, who are too attached to Eataly world that you can’t leave, there’s a hotel coming up shortly as well. So, yay!
