The best time to visit Turkey in terms of weather is between April to October when the temperatures are pleasantly accompanied by clear skies. In terms of seasons, Spring (April-June) is the ideal time to visit Turkey followed by Autumn (September-October). Istanbul and European Turkey are exposed to hot summertime and cold winters. Spring and autumn are from April to May and September to mid-November - the perfect time to visit Istanbul and the inland regions. Winter is not advised since Istanbul is near the sea and the nights will be too cold to handle.

The ideal duration to get the best of Turkey varies from 10-12 days. Istanbul needs 3 days at least and Cappadocia and Pamukkale can be covered in a maximum of 2 days. If you're interested in Greco-Roman ancient cities, you must visit Ephesus which can be covered end to end in a day. If you're more of a beach and resort person, spend 3-4 days in Antalya, Fethiye, Marmaris or Bodrum.

Turkish Lira is the currency used in Turkey and in some places Euros are accepted. The average cost of one meal for a person in 20TL, which is close to 270 INR. The expenditure in Turkey for a day per person will be around 150 Turkish Lira's which is about Rs 1950 which includes your meal & other personal expenses.

Turkey has minibuses called dolmuşes that enable trips to the villages and can seat up to 20 passengers. For travel between cities, a lot of private bus service providers are available who facilitate these services. Also, taxis are common in most cities in Turkey and driving around the city is yet another way to explore the country in an authentic well-paced way.

Pros: Very nice overall experience and trip for Turkey. Pickyourtrail support during the trip was amazing and so were the activities and transportation/transfers. Roma Cave hotel and HHK hotel was very nice. Loved the hot air balloon activity in Cappadocia. Cons: Few of the hotel selections could have been better. Star Holiday Hotel was very very small and not upto standards. And the layover during flights was also very high which could have been planned better. Overall: 8/10Read more
