Jordan Visa for Indians

Indian passport holders require a visa to enter Jordan. However, the nationals which are the part of the Gulf Cooperation Council are exempt from this requirement. • A detailed itinerary for the trip.

Validity:
 

• Tourist visa: 30 days 
• Transit visa: Applicable for layovers beyond 3 days, valid up to 3 days. 
• Business visa: 90 days, with stays up to 30 days.
• Visit visa: 3 months up to 5 years. 
• Employment visa: 1-3 years depending on the type of contract.
• Jordan Pass: Valid for 12 months but expires 2 weeks after activation at a tourist attraction spot.

Online (E-visa)

1. Step 1: Visit the official website for the Jordan E-visa. Create an account and log in to the portal.
2. Step 2: Fill out the visa application form with complete and accurate information, such as passport information, personal details, travel itinerary, etc. 
3. Step 3: Upload scanned copies of the required documents and submit the application form and pay the processing fee. 
4. Step 4: Upon approval, the e-visa will be sent to the registered e-mail address. Make sure to print a copy of the visa while arriving at the airport.

Offline (Embassy)

1. Step 1: From the official Jordan Embassy website, download the visa application form.
2. Step 2: Fill out the application form accurately and completely and attach copies of the required documents.
3. Step 3: Visit the nearest embassy or consulate for Jordanian immigration and submit your application. 
4. Step 4: Pay the visa processing fee.
5. Step 5: Once processed, collect the passport along with the visa stamp from the same embassy.

Visa on Arrival

1. Step 1: After arriving at the Jordan airport, approach the immigration counter reserved for the issuance of visas. 
2. Step 2:  Provide the necessary documents requested at the counter, such as a passport, proof of accommodation, flight tickets, etc., that have been mentioned above.
3. Step 3: Pay the visa processing fee either in USD or JOD.
4. Step 4: The visa will be issued as the immigration officer will stamp the visa confirmation on the passport.

The processing time for a Jordan tourist visa is about 5-14 working days and costs Rs. 6,500-8,500. The processing time is the same for a visitor visa and a business visa as well and costs Rs. 6,500-9,500 and Rs. 8,000-9,500, respectively. For a work permit visa, it can take up to 60 days or more to get processed and its cost depends on the terms of the contract. Visa on arrival is processed immediately and costs Rs. 8,500-10,500.

Jordan has opened an e-visa for travellers recently as well as an online verification process for e-visas, which makes the visa process extremely simplified and convenient. Visas on arrival and Jordan passes have also been introduced for travellers to make the trip journey efficient. Jordan passes are only applicable for a few nights and can only be applied for entry at selected attractions. If one has exceeded the days on the Jordan Pass, they would have to apply for a Jordan tourist visa.
