Nusa Penida Island, which is southeast of Bali's main island, is renowned for having maintained its natural beauty. Among the three islands in the southeast of Bali, it is also one of the biggest. One such area is Crystal Bay, which is a rocky island and part of Nusa Penida's western coast. It is well known for its amazing corals. Coral Bay is also one of the few Nusa Penida beach locations that can be reached without much difficulty. We will discuss specifics about things to do in and around Crystal Bay in this blog.

Why Visit Crystal Bay

Although Crystal Bay is not necessarily a must-see location on the island of Nusa Penida, its tranquil atmosphere and surrounding coconut trees make it a great place to unwind in the sun. Additionally, it has some of the best diving and snorkelling spots on the island. Another major draw is watching the sunset from the beach, which shouldn't be missed. The bay itself has stunning coral reefs surrounding it and a sandy area in the middle. The bay's shoreline is lined with palm trees, temples, and a number of small local shops, which creates the ideal atmosphere for the beach.

Best Time to Visit Crystal Bay

One of the best times to visit Bali is from April to October, when it is in its dry season. Additionally, the underwater visibility here is perfect for snorkelling and scuba-diving exploration. Additionally, Nusa Penida experiences a rainy season from October to December, so it is best to avoid travelling to Bali during this time. Therefore, the bay's potential could be used to its fullest extent during the summer.

Things to do in Crystal Bay

One of the best things to do on Nusa Penida Island is dive in Coral Bay. With excellent visibility up to 30 meters deep, it is possible to see some of our marine friends, including Mola-Mola fish, mantle rays, and reef sharks. Since the area is notorious for having rough tides, novice divers should exercise caution while diving there.

On this island, snorkelling close to the coral reef is a fantastic summertime activity. Crystal Bay's white beach and crystal-clear water are surrounded by incredible coral reefs. The reef is a great place to spend time with kids because it is home to many of our marine friends, including turtles, clownfish, crabs, tuna, and colourful coral.

Temple visit

A few temples are also located near Coral Bay. A small, rocky island opposite Crystal Bay is home to a single, tiny Hindu temple. With the aid of boat services, one could travel there. There is a temple nearby the beach, even on the main island, which can be visited.

You could opt to lay back and relax under the tall palm and coconut trees and just observe the tide flow. Viewing the sunset from here is one of the best things to do on Nusa Penida Island.

How to Reach Crystal Bay

Crystal Bay, located in Nusa Penida province, can be reached from the main island port. The island could be reached from the Kusamba from the east or Sanur from the south Bali. From there, the bay could be reached with the help of a rented scooter. Entry to the coral bay is free.

Angel Billabong

On Nusa Penida Island, Angel Billabong, which is 17 kilometres from Crystal Bay, is a must-visit location. You might need the assistance of locals to get here because the location is a little tricky to find. Its draw is a natural lagoon formation that produces a pool. The traditional idea that it is the location where angels bathed is the origin of its name. Some of the best things to do here include diving off the cliff, swimming, and taking in the scenery from the top.

Guyangan Waterfalls

The waterfalls are 20 kilometres to the east of Crystal Bay, and it takes 45 minutes to get there. The waterfall system here is fed by a pipe system, unlike other waterfalls. The blue stairs along the cliffside of the mountain, which offer a stunning view of the sea, are the location's main attraction. The pool that is hidden inside the cliff should also be explored. You can visit the shrines, which are primarily for Hindu deities, that you'll see as you descend the rails.

Kelingking Beach

This is undoubtedly one of the island's top attractions and is situated on the west coast. The distance from Crystal Bay to the beach is about 15 kilometres, and it would take an hour to get there. The main draws in this area are the view of the sea from the top of the hill, lounging on the white sands, and going down the wooden stairs.
