Why Bali Should Be Your Next Holiday Destination
Bali is one of the few places in the world that truly has everything. You can start your day with peace at an ancient Hindu temple. By mid-morning, you can enjoy surfing on world-class waves. For lunch, you can try a delicious rijsttafel feast in a beautiful old plantation house. In the evening, watch the famous Kecak fire dance as the sun sets. It’s no surprise that Bali is always on the travel list of Indian tourists.
Here’s what makes Bali so special:
- Cultural depth — Bali is the only Hindu-majority island in mostly Muslim Indonesia. This gives it a unique and rich culture. You will see beautiful temples everywhere. Daily offerings and traditions are part of everyday life. Every street feels alive and full of culture.
- Natural beauty in abundance — Bali is full of stunning landscapes. You will find volcanic mountains, green rice terraces, sacred lakes, hidden waterfalls, and amazing beaches. All of this exists within a small island, making travel easy and exciting.
- Unbeatable value for Indians — Bali offers luxury at great prices. You can stay in premium hotels, enjoy relaxing spa treatments, have romantic candlelight dinners, and even book private pool villas. All this costs much less than similar experiences in Europe.
- Direct flights from India — Travelling to Bali is simple and convenient. Many airlines offer direct and connecting flights from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. This makes Bali a top international choice for Indian travellers.
- Warm, welcoming people — The people of Bali are kind and friendly. They are known for their warm smiles and helpful nature. Their love for art and culture adds to the charm, making your trip even more memorable.

Best Places to Visit in Bali — Our Curated Area Guide
Understanding Bali's distinct neighbourhoods is the key to building the perfect itinerary. Most Bali tour packages lump everything together, but the island's character changes dramatically from one region to the next.
Ubud: The Cultural Heart of Bali
Ubud is calm, green, and full of culture. It sits between volcanoes and deep river valleys. This is the place for yoga, wellness, and peace. You can watch traditional dance shows and learn local cooking. Walk through the famous rice terraces of Tegallalang and Jatiluwih. Visit the Sacred Monkey Forest and Goa Gajah easily, as they are close by. Most couples include Ubud in their trip, and it’s a must in any Bali itinerary.
- Best for: Honeymooners, culture lovers, wellness seekers, photographers
Seminyak & Kuta: Where the Party Never Stops
Kuta is lively and full of energy. You will find beach bars, surf schools, clubs, and shops everywhere. It is fun and always buzzing. Seminyak, just nearby, feels more stylish and relaxed. It offers boutique hotels, rooftop bars, and great restaurants. The beaches are long and perfect for sunsets. Together, they are a key part of most Bali trips.
- Best for: Solo travellers, groups, first-time visitors, surfers
Nusa Dua: Bali's Luxury Coastal Strip
Nusa Dua is all about comfort and luxury. It has some of Bali’s best resorts like Grand Hyatt Bali, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali, The Ritz-Carlton Bali, and Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort. The beaches are clean and calm. The area is quiet and safe. It is perfect for a relaxing stay. Many honeymoon packages include a few nights here.
- Best for: Luxury travellers, honeymooners, families
Canggu: Bali for the Free Spirit
Canggu is trendy and full of life. It started as a quiet village but is now very popular. You will see surfers, digital nomads, and wellness lovers here. Beaches like Echo Beach and Batu Bolong are great for sunsets. The café scene is amazing. You can enjoy healthy food, good coffee, and smoothie bowls everywhere.
- Best for: Solo travellers, long stays, digital nomads, food lovers
Uluwatu: Clifftop Views and Sunset Magic
Uluwatu is famous for its dramatic cliffs and ocean views. It sits high on the Bukit Peninsula. You will find temples, caves, and great surf spots here. Uluwatu Temple is one of the most beautiful places in Bali. It stands high above the sea. In the evening, you can watch the famous Kecak fire dance at sunset. It is a magical experience you should not miss.
- Best for: Honeymooners, photographers, surfers, spiritual travellers
Best Time to Visit Bali
Bali is a great destination all year round. But choosing the right time can make your trip even better. Here’s a simple guide before you book your Bali packages:
- Dry Season (April to October) — Best Overall: This is the most popular time to visit Bali. The weather is clear and pleasant. Humidity is lower, so it feels comfortable. It’s perfect for outdoor fun like trekking, surfing, diving, and sightseeing. July and August are the busiest months, with many tourists from Europe and Australia. Prices go up fast, so booking early is a smart choice.
- Wet Season (November to March) — Best for Budget Travellers: This season has regular afternoon showers. But don’t worry, Bali is still very active. Mornings are often bright and sunny. The island looks fresh, green, and beautiful. Hotels and villas are cheaper, which is great for saving money. It’s a good time for spa treatments, relaxing stays, exploring Ubud, and enjoying nature.
For Indian Travellers — Sweet Spots:
- October–November: Post-monsoon freshness, fewer crowds, competitive prices
- December–January: Year-end festive travel; book well in advance
- April–June: Before the European summer rush; great weather, manageable crowds

I recently planned my Bali trip with Pickyourtrail, and overall it was a smooth and hassle-free experience. From bookings, visa assistance, and itineraries to on-ground coordination, everything was handled very well. The team was proactive, responsive, and always available to help, which made the trip very convenient and stress-free. A special thanks to Mithun, Vaishnavi, Mahalakshmi, Keertana, Anit, and Selina for their constant support. The stays were a mixed experience the first villa was visually beautiful but had some service and food-related gaps, and its distance from key locations added to travel time. However, the stay at Merusaka was excellent and truly a 5-star experience. There were also a few minor gaps with itinerary execution on-ground, but these were addressed by the team. Overall, despite a few small hiccups, I had a great experience and would recommend Pickyourtrail for a well-planned vacation.
