The Henley Passport Index ranks all the countries based on how freely their citizens can travel while holding their respective passports. According to the Henley Passport Index 2022, Japan holds the most powerful passport in the world, while India came in at 87th place, allowing easy entry to 60 countries. Indian citizens will now be able to travel without fuss to the places they’ve always wanted to go because they won’t need a visa beforehand. India had access to only 23 countries in 2020 that offered visa on arrival, but as of right now, Indian passport holders can visit 60 nations without a prior visa. It is big news for all Indian travellers out there!
According to reports, two years after India banned international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry boosted, which had a beneficial impact and raised the passport rating even higher.
The top 5 countries on the list, according to the Hanley Passport Index surveys, are Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Germany, and Spain.
